*pass this on to 10 friends and recieve a special blessing *I will know how much you love Jesus by how many you forward this to *God won't have to ask how many people you forwarded this to, He already knows! If you have not recieved one of these emails that end in similars ways, you will. How do you feel about "Christain" chain letters that promise special blessings if you reply, or tell you they will prove how much you love the Lord by how many you pass it on to? It is sad that Christians actually believe this works or is necessary to "prove" they love the Lord.

I feel people who send such e-mails unwittingly do more harm to Christianity than good. I normally delete them. If you know the sender well enough perhaps a quiet word in their ear may persuade them not to pass these e-mails on.

I can't stand getting any kind of chain letter. The "christian" ones are probably even worse because of the "guilt-factor." I delete them now.

I will normally delete any email that comes with "Fwd" on it. My family still sends them, but I just ignore them. God's love is not dependent on email.

I received one of these chain emails not so long since and although it was a lovely message - the "pass it on to ten people and receive a blessing!" bit at the end of it is a lot of old baloney (i.e. rubbish) and spoilt it. Christians sending such around the internet to their friends and loved ones is rather concerning (unless they delete the 'pass it on to 10 friends part')! Either they trust the Lord or they don't and if the do trust Him - they should put these chain emails in the rubbish where it belongs and delete it from their Inbox and NOT pass it on. I used to be very superstitious but I trusted the Lord as my Saviour on Friday, 13th November 1986 and that put paid to that! I believe my Lord was telling me something and He nailed my superstitious bondage to the cross along with my other sins! Hallelujah Jesus.

It is sad that Christians actually believe this works or is necessary to "prove" they love the Lord. I believe people that write them are manipulative and try to heap coals of guilt to receivers. I myself do not pass them on. If I like the message I will delete the portion of blessings or the portion that state He is not ashamed of you, so do not be ashamed to forward this. These folks I believe lack many things and may the Lord help them with their unbelief CRH

I never pass them on. I have enjoyed a few of them but then you get to the inevitable "send to xxx of your friends, blah blah blah." I do notice who sends them to me and I always find that interesting. Every once in a while, my unbelieving daughter forwards one to me. I know she has no agenda behind it, it just makes her feel warm and fuzzy.

I hate chain letters anyway and refuse to participate in them, but the Christian ones are ten times more odious. The last one I received basically stated the following: If you pass this on, you will be showing your love for Jesus. BLESSINGS WILL ABOUND! If you don't pass it on, then you obviously don't love Jesus. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! Chain letters are based on a non-Christian formula of manipulation, superstition, and works. Do 'X' and expect a reward. Don't do 'X' and expect to be cursed. Christian chain letters are no different. I can find that exact same formula at work in pagan religions. I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who hates these things!!

*pass this on to 10 friends and receive a special blessing as opposed to a 'regular' blessing... Probably the author hoped(I hope)by sharing a particular observation others would catch a glimpse of their vision. The ones that threaten, 'If you don't forward this...' as somehow the recipient is shamed into relying is my limit! Those are often sanctimonious, arrogant , critical and don't contribute to anytime.

I didn't know God's blessings hinged on my copy and pasting a myspace bulletin. . .

I often delete without reading. Occasionally I will read one, and if I like it, I will forward only after removing the *chain letter* junk.

Not a good witness to your christian faith. I either ignore them or delete them--that is why the delete button is for that purpose. Folk needs to use it....

I delete them without hesitation. So many of them seem to be written with the goal of making you feel good or bad, not really encouraging you as a follower of Christ. Has anyone read one of those and made a decision to change something in their life? Do you read them and decide to be more Christlike? I don't think many people get up after reading a FWD and change their lives for the better. I think people like the feeling and like sharing the feeling that the FWD evokes.

I used to get them from someone on these forums. The last one I received had several stories at the beginning that told of awful things happening to people who hadn't passed it on. I asked the forwarder to NEVER send me something like that again. She, of course, was offended and probably thinks I don't love Jesus as much as she loves Jesus.

We've considered responding with the following: "Delete this and 10 others like it so I can receive my special blessing of not getting these emails anymore."
