The is a thread for those that follow and enjoy the show and the family on the show (the Duggars). (Please keep all the negative stuff in the other thread...this is only for those that enjoy the show and would like to talk about it without all the negative feedback about it).

For those that don't know about the show or the family....
HERE is the Duggar's web site
HERE is the info on their show on TLC

I don't get the chance to follow the show, but I have very much enjoyed the shows that I have seen.

Here are some things I really enjoyed about the show:

I love how JimBob and Michelle love each other. It was very sweet in the hotel room when JimBob told Michelle she looked beautiful that morning, and she kissed him.

I enjoyed listening to them sing on the bus. They have got some beautiful voices.

That little boy that started jumping up and down and flapping his arms when he was standing in the doorway and the bus horn was blaring was cute and funny.

It was cute when Johannah was swinging on that bar in the bus.

The reaction of the man at the pizza place was PRICELESS!

When JimBob explained how it sometimes took $500.00 to fill the tank, I was impressed that they could manage their money well enough to afford a bus that costs that much to fill up in gas. It made me wonder how the hockey team did it.

It cracked me up when that red head girl was naming off their names. I used to do that with families ALL the time.

I enjoyed seeing them enjoy Central Park, and I really liked that circle formation that they put them in, that was cool!

Johannah cracked me up at the pizza place..they seem to have 16, very calm children..she seems like the one that's really lively!

I do admire them for dressing modestly, especially compared to the way some teenagers dress these days. I thought the person in New York who said they looked Amish, must not know much about the Amish.

I thought it was amusing when JimBob was trying to catch the chicken, and it was nice of him to want to catch it to show it to his kids for a minute.

That is one VERY ATTRACTIVE bunch of kids.

I thought the kids looked adorable when they were lined up at the Peabody hotel, and I like that Josh holds the baby alot-it's not just the girls...although now that he's married, he won't be doing that as much, I guess, lol.

The little boy that was talking about his dad chasing the chicken was just adorable.

It was cute when Josiah said he would be a nobody if it weren't for his mom.

oh yes, that was so pretty!!! At first I thought it was them singing along to a cd, but after listening I realized that no, it was THEM singing!!!! Very very nice!!!!

My grandparents have an rv and they say that it is about that much to fill it up too...only theirs gets much worse mileage then the Duggars does. I believe they said about 10mpg...my grandparents are doing good to get 5mpg!!

LOL...yeah we were LOL about that one!!!

I didn't hear that one...how sweet!!!!

I want to have a musical family like them. We don't have the resources for instruments and lessons, but someday I think it would be really neat to have a huge family to sing together like they do.

I just love seeing a huge, cohesive family, and how much fun they have.

Maggie, I've known kids that have worked for their teacher for lessons..and there are all kinds of used instruments that can be bought for a discount.

Topic:Maggie, I'm sorry you don't have access to the show, as I know that you would enjoy it. I will pray your library gets it. I asked my friend who has Tivo, but she doesn't know how to transfer to video and cd's.

Oh, it's easy to make a VHS! Maggie, do you really want a VHS of some of their shows? I'll ask dH to do it. I think he'll be okay with me shipping off a tape.

Topic: I like their financial planning, and that is no small complement to me anyways.

yeah, it's easy if you have your vcr hooked up right...lol. (totally off topic, but...) we bought a combo vcr/dvd player that records on vhs or dvd. we spent the extra money for the one that records dvd's too. well, it seems our tv can't hook up right through it, so we have to have a router basically for the cable to go into and out of...and because of it all we can't get the cable to go into the vcr/dvd player, so I can't record things on it!!!! We just need a new tv that has more then just a cable connection on it....but our tv was a trash find in Germany, so I am not complaining!!!
anyway....all that to say I can't record it. I will check today to see if I can get them off the web and record them though (if you want me to or if Ruth can't do it)

I am sad that I have only got to see one out of four episodes. My recorder keeps messing up.

I thought it was sweet. If everybody's children were that respectful and kind, the world would be a better place.

I found it really uplifting and encouraging. It is nice to see them putting into practice much of the same stuff that we are doing with our kids. Of course, it looks different than us, but they are not us.

It is so nice that Josh found a young lady that seems to have many of the same values. I love the commitment to purity they have made and that they aren't just going along the "how much can we do and still be ok" train of thought. No regrets there.

I don't know if Monday's episode showed the wedding or not..I've got a friend Tivoing it for me, so I haven't seen it yet......from what you guys are saying, though, it seems it was just about the courtship/proposal, not the wedding..anyway, just in case last night didn't have the wedding, HERE are two wedding pictures of Josh and Anna. There is just those two, and none of the wedding party, but hopefully, those will come.

No it wasn't the wedding....that one is next week I think. It was the engagement and meeting the families afterward.

for those that can't watch this show on monday nights, I caught a replaying of the first two episodes yesterday (saturday afternoon) on TLC...so check your local listings to see if it's like that where you live (it should be though).

tonight's episodes were soooo fun to watch!!!! Vacation with a family nearly their own size....in BRANSON!!!!! DIXIE STAMPEDE!!!!! I love that place!!!! (the one in TN is where hubby and I had our first date the day we met...we were set up by friends). Paint ball....and of course SKY DIVING!!!!!!!!!!! It really looked like such a fun vacation time for both families...and Amy is just hilarious. I wonder if she will be in most of the episodes or if it's just coincidence so far that she has been there so much.
