"This week, Chavez also relished the arrival of two Russian strategic bombers in Venezuela. The Tu-160 bombers, which Russian officials said are not carrying live weapons, are flying training missions over the Caribbean until Monday, when they will return to Russia... On Wednesday, Chavez said he wanted to fly "one of those beasts" past Cuba and greet his friend and mentor, former Cuban president Fidel Castro. Pavel Androsov, head of the Russian air force's long-distance command, told Interfax that Chavez's request would be considered. "If they ask us, then fine, if they give us such an order, we will safely transport him and show him the Caribbean from above," Androsov said. " Farc, Chaves, Russian Bombers Bolivian crises, US diplomats expulsion from Bolivia & Venezuela Reading Brasilian news, there is a state of beseige" (dont know if i translate correctly) in Pando, Bolivia, after the latest chaos. There are wanting and trying to flee Santa Crusz, but Brasilian gov told to them "wait a bit more" ( ) to see if there some improvement etc...Bolivia want no outsiders help, as Argentina, Brasil and Colombia were trying to mediate but were blocked, no avail for now. Brazilian President Lula very worry with the situation. Ps: I am non violent or weapons person but If I had a taser gum, I would taser Mr. Chaves big mouth, he can be extra irritating, anoying, bully, and etc ways (sorry my neigboors Venezuelans is the way I feel about him..feel free to bash Lula also.)

All I can say is that Chavez and Putin have something going on between them! And yes, Pres. Lula seems like something of a blowhard too at times!

Yep, I do agree. There are so many things going on..about LA the left and center wings countries and the many standings inside those countries regarding their politicians..plus what I do think is the US foreigner policies reggarding LA as Mr.Bush administration was dealing with many other fronts did kind of disregard LA, I guess some south of the border wished at some point the America Continent to have more straight and equall alliance but it is not possible...and some countries do stand as anti-US and they say so clearly etc. Others decided to not stay soo USA dependent and started to look for new partners and new commercial alliances etc. They even decided to have their own groups in South America and not include US among it... I listened to Lula at UN and he did carry a message not only from Brazil but from the region and poor nations in Africa as he did mentioned Haiti also. I do understand that countries in development will try to carry on their own alliances and etc as many see the rich countries as carry on with their own agendas, having alliances within themselves.. What I can say is that many Brasilians cannot stand Mr.Chaves ways and some cannot stand Lula ways (there are some reasons for that and others I do think because of his humble ways and may be "class" criticisms.) but his popularity at the polls is very much high . Some countries do want to bring democracy and improve their citizens lives, free trades and dealing with house cleaning corruptions and etcs the problem are those countries with their populist leaders who do irritates everyone around..now I wished to know how Venezuelans do really see and digest their own President. I do think Mr. Chaves said at some point Lula was pro-Empire pleaser or something like that, a la unique Chaves style...

Venezuela set to develop nuclear power: Today:Venezuela's nuclear reactor 2 days ago: Russia & Venezuela boost ties "But, our analyst says, it is the political dimensions of the relationship that lead many analysts to ask whether Russia is now actively trying to create a counterbalance to American influence, starting in South America.
