Lord, I ask that you please look down upon the Crosswalk forums. Dearest God, everywhere I look on here, it seems the recent election in the United States has caused great debate and contraversy among the users of this board. The election is over, now, God. All that could be done has been done, and we pray that you will bless all of those who are now in charge of the United States of America.

More importantly for me, however, God, I ask that you look down and lend your healing touch to the Crosswalk forums. Bitterness seems to have spread through the board from those of us who still hold feelings of angst, anger, and/or fear over the results of this election, and the debating and fighting that lead up to it. Please heal the hearts of all those who have been affected negatively by this election on this board. Mend the broken friendships, heal the broken spirits, guide those who celebrate to do so with grace in respect to those who do not do so. Help those who refuse to see other people's points of view to open their eyes and do so (regardless to which side of the "asile" they sit on), and to learn to accept all believers in you as brothers and sisters in Christ, again, so that we may all continue to be a house united, rather than one that is divided. Remind all of us that, whoever runs America, you alone, God, run the entire world. Guide us with grace, mercy, and most of all, forgiveness, so that this board may continue to be an influence of Christianity so that all might be lead to you through Christ. I humbly ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Beloved Savior.

Amen.

Praying in agreement for unity and love to always be at the forefront of the forums
Lord help all to accept the things we cannot change but to give it all to you with the knowledge you are in control.
Lord may the forums always reflect your love, truth and unity in Christian fellowship.
Help all here Lord to heal and go forward with you and be examples of your love.
Thank You Lord for knowing what areas here need attention ,keep us from being divided and destructive toward one another.
Help all Lord to go forward with complete trust and knowledge that you are in control.
Thank you Lord that we can come to you with our concerns
In Jesus name
Amen

Father,
Please use the new admistration to help the country. Help all who voted for the "winning side" to be gracious and Christlike. Help all who voted for the "losing side" to pray for the best. Help Christians on both sides to be unified in your love.

We ask this and pray that your love prevails in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I Timothy 2:1-2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Father,

Barack Obama was not my candidate, but HE IS MY PRESIDENT. In obedience to You I come before you this day in humility and gratitude to beg Your choicest blessings upon President-Elect Obama and all those in charge of America.

I am humbly asking that You give our new president and the leaders he chooses wisdom, spiritual strength to accept the inevitable burdens of leadership, humility of spirit and clarity for what is ahead. May you bless and direct our leaders as long as it is Your will for them to be in leadership.

Grant us unity on this forum, and godly love for each other, no matter what our political or cultural differences might be. Forgive us for uncharitable thoughts we might have had, and help us to release all bitterness which does nothing more than poison our own spirit. Grant us each the willingness to be humble and to bow in obedience to YOU in all things. Help us come together in prayer for our new leaders, as well as the old. Lord, please help us all agree in our spirits that prayer is needed more now than ever for our country, for our leaders, for our ministries, and for ourselves.

Father, we thank You that You hear our prayer.
We thank you that you are already answering our prayer.

In Jesus Name I ask these things,
Amen.

...Will definitely be in my prayers tonight.

Posted in the InternetMonk website after the election:

Timothy 2:1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. …8 In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.

I Peter 2:13 For the Lord’s sake, respect all human authority—whether the king as head of state, 14 or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right. 15 It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. 16 For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. 17 Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God, and respect the king.

Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. 6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.
