Hey, In the past few months I decided to get back into the bible and learn about God and etc, but however I feel like I do not know much about angels. Does anyone know of a good read preferably a site or scriptures that would enlighten me on them?
A side ? is, does the bible ever say once we go to heaven we will be angels? or Do we become something different?

I do know that the Bible tells us that we will judge the angels-as far as being like them, I don't have any references that I know of that support that.
Just curious, why the facination with angels? They are powerful indeed, but only as messengers and servants of the true and living God.
Well, I don't have a fascination about them however I am curious. Thanks for the link.

The closest the Bible comes to saying we will be like angels is in that in the resurrection there is no marriage or giving in marriage. I am sure there are plenty of books and stuff on angels but I only cared to know what Bible says about them. Oh and we will not be angels for angels will never receive salvation that is for humans only. If an angel doesn't do what he is supposed to is no way of redemption

A very readable, if I remember right, book about Angels is Angels by Billy Graham. It has a lot of good information in it. I read it years ago, so I don't remember a lot of what it said, but I do remember it was good. I don't even know if it would still be in print or not, but it came to mind immediately when I read your question.

Hi, again, Mike!
Here a few years ago, there was a great deal of cultural emphasis on angels-- it was a bit disturbing because they were approaching idol status for many. The bible does say that we were made a little lower than the angels with the implication that our status will be slightly higher than they when we die because of our redemption on earth.
I can tell you, too, that the lovely little babies with wings are not an accurate depiction of cherubim. Cherubim were the angels used to guard the Garden with swords, their wings beats were described by one of the prophets as louder than thunder-- they are not cute and they ARE warriors and messengers of God.
One other interesting note-- The Angel of the Lord is commonly thought to be the pre-incarnate Christ. Take a look at Gideon's first encounter while threashing wheat in the winepress (Judges 6). If it were not Jesus, a "common" angel would not have accepted a sacrifice such as Gideon meant to offer.
I have seen many discuss the Army of the Lord in terms of heirarchy (Michael, the Archangel as the most powerfull, that sort of thing), but the thing is that the Bible really doesn't spend a lot of time discussing anges specifically. We are only given glimpses. If you are interested, that is fine, but I would encourage you to avoid any kind of interest that leads you to focusing on them rather than their Creator.

I agree, I'm not going to spent much time trying to learn about them, just wondered what the bible had to say about them. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Here is the one I like, it tells me that I have a an angel watching over me:
Heb 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hmm. It's curious, but I've sometimes found myself hating my own humanity to the point of actually wishing I was an angel. I know. It's unrealistic way of thinking, but I often can't help wondering how much more peaceful life would be if I'd never been born a human.
Well, anyway, someone already answered the question as to whether we'll end up being angels or something similar. We will indeed become LIKE the angels, insofar as not being given in marriage and so forth. I personally have a fascination with the Archangel Michael, because it is he who was written about in the Book of Revelation having fought against the Dragon, and prevailed.
But in the Book of Jude, I think it is, He is given as an example to others: something along the lines of, "Now when Michael disputed Satan over the body of Moses, he dared not bring a railing accusation against him, but said only, 'The Lord rebuke you!'"
Also, Michael is spoken of in the Book of Daniel as the Great Prince who watches over the sons of men and will rise up in the Last Days...
