If you have any jewelry that you wear daily (wedding set, earrings, necklace...whatever) does it make you feel really strange to not wear it? Like you're actually missing part of yourself or something?

I've put off for a long time taking my wedding set to have some things done to them that I knew I needed to...getting the prongs retipped on the setting on my mothers engagement ring (which is what I wanted to wear instead of getting a new one) so that I don't one day lose the stone...and also getting the wedding & anniversary band soldered to it so I don't have to constantly fiddle with them and line them all back up (not to mention the wear all that movement back and forth was creating to the base of the setting on my mom's ring)...so I finally decided to just do it and took them yesterday to the jeweler to get the work done and they said it would take about a week...I'm excited to finally get it done because I know it will all fit together better and that they'll polish it all up too. But now I feel like part of my finger is missing...it's strange how much it bothers me to not have them on...anyone else feel like this if you go out without something you wear everyday?

I feel funny if I forget to put my everyday jewelry back on after taking it off for whatever reason.

Yes, definitely. I haven't forgotten my wedding ring so far, but I do carry some small hoop earrings in my purse just in case I forget to put on earrings at home. If my ears are naked I feel incomplete all day! I know I'd feel even worse if I forgot my wedding ring. I have gotten as far as getting in my car to leave for work without it, but then I remembered and ran back in and got it just in time.

Yes, I feel weird... when I am not wearing things I wear daily. I know one time I was cleaning and cooking and getting messy so I took my ring off and put it in my box and then my fiance called and so I forgot all about putting my ring back on and went to be with him and then I realized I wasnt wearing. It felt so weird not having it on...
sometimes though with earings if im missing one or dont have them in, I dont always notice lol

Me either...think the only thing I ever do feel weird not having on is my wedding set...but then again it's the only thing that I truly ALWAYS wear. Every once in a while if I'm running late in the morning I'll forget to put it on...and I've been known to drive all the way home at lunch to get it...lol.

I don't wear my wedding ring around the house, but always do in public. I feel wierd without it in public, but am comfy at home w/o it. That's funny to me because I go some days w/o ever leaving the house or wearing the ring.

I also feel naked w/o earrings. It doesn't have to be the same ones every day, but that's a piece of jewelry that I have chosen to wear. I am just fine without bracelets and necklaces, although I do wear them some. But earrings are a must.

I'm really pretty silly!

I can live without my necklace and earrings, but I can't stand it when I'm not wearing my class ring. I'm so used to it being there, and I fidget with it when I'm bored or sometimes nervous.

I think jewelery makes us look more feminine, chic and adds beauty to our attire.

I feel naked without my rings.

My daughter has been in the hospital a lot lately, and she had an open wound I needed to learn how to treat. I took off the five rings I was wearing that day -- wedding, engagement, a fancy one, and two pinky rings -- and left them on the table. Of course, they disappeared.

I felt odd not having them, but more important was my daughter. It actually took me a month to report the loss to the insurance, because they just lost importance.

If I go out I feel naked without my wedding rings. Its not so bad at home, I always take them off at home, but once I step out of the house its like I am undressed! Same way with earrings, i always always wear just this simple small pair of hoops, nothing more, I feel incomplete without them. Necklaces just drive me batty.

I can certainly understand why...I hope your daughter is improving...

I never take my ring off. I have many piercings in both ears, but lately I just haven't felt like wearing earrings so I haven't. I wore them all for like 8 years in a row then just got tired of them. I need all new ones and don't feel like shopping for them.

Thank you so much. At this point, only the L-rd knows. It's day-to-day right now.

Do you mind sharing her name with us so that we can lift her up in prayer by name?
