Okay. I see so many bald guys, usually quite young, and they all have facial hair.

Why do you think a bald man grows a beard, goatee or mustache?
What do you think about the young guys losing some hair who shave their head? Cool or just bald?
What about Comb Overs? Is a comb over worse than shaved heads?
Ladies, Is bald attractive to you?

Hubby has a full head of hair and won't grow a mustache (had one for many years.)

Because he can.

I think it's fine. I don't think it's cool OR uncool (although I lean more towards cool than uncool).

What about Comb Overs? Is a comb over worse than shaved heads?
ABSOLUTELY worse!

Ladies, Is bald attractive to you?
I'm fine with it.

My hubby has a full head of hair, too, and if his dad is any indication, he'll be keeping it (although he's already graying).

Bald with facial hair is very nice.

There's a guy at my church my age with a horseshoe thingie going for him. He just stays bald but keeps his goatee and mustache. Very nice.

I'm partially werewolf, so facial hair is always an issue.

I hope and pray I never go bald. I don't think I can pull it off.

It depends on the guy, but pretty much anything is OK with me, except a comb over. They should be illegal.

They don't all do it, but those who do I think do it because it's a better look. Bald and just bald (especially young bald) doesn't look right.

What do you think about the young guys losing some hair who shave their head? Cool or just bald?
Both. My fiance is mostly bald and shaves it all off. There's history to it, but long story short, he got out of the marines and tried to grow his hair back and realized there wasn't much to grow. So he just does it the easy way and has none. He has less hair at 34 than his dad does at 60.

What about Comb Overs? Is a comb over worse than shaved heads?
completely unattractive. Looks ridiculous. It's like women trying to wear jeans with their bellies hanging over the edge.

Ladies, Is bald attractive to you?
Yep.

I think of a comb-over as a sideways mullet.

Yes .. but mullets were cool at one point. I don't think a combover has EVER been cool.

No, a little later I think. I remember them being cool when I was growing up. And I'm only 28.

I shave my head, and I also have a short goatee. I do it just because I like the look.

Okay. Another question:
Why are so many young men going bald? I'm 57 and I cannot ever recall seeing young men who were bald. Maybe a very ill young man, but shucks, almost every young man in our large church is bald or seriously balding.

Hormones in food? Stress? Exposure to chemicals?

To answer my own questions from above:

I have NO idea why a balding guy would shave his head. Not cool to me.

I think a LOT of facial hair on a bald guy looks lopsided and odd. A mustach or small goatee is fine. I am guessing they grow hair on their face because they can.

Comb overs are horrid!

I do NOT find shaved bald attractive. A balding guy, such as Sean Connery, looks just fine.

Diane ... I agree that a full beard and bald doesn't look good. But a goatee is very stylish and trendy these days. A mustache alone .... NOT COOL!!!!

I think men shave their head instead of see the bald because it takes away from teh bald. The attention isn't on the crown of hair, but on the head. it's all the same.

Now ... at 60 with a grey crown? that shouldn't be shaved. But at 30ish ... I LOVe it.

Well, I guess I won't shave my head then.

This is the exact reason I do the whole head shaving thing. When my head is shaved, I look like I'm in my 20's. When it's not, I look like I'm the 40 year old range.

To be honest, I've seen a lot of guys who shave their head and have a goatee/beard are usually overweight... Not all of them, but the majority...

btw... i have a goatee, am overweight, but will not shave my head... just don't like it...

like grossly overweight???

I would say it might be a coincidence. The average adult puts on weight as he/she ages and most men who are going bald and will shave are probably in their 30s. So I would think that being overweight and have the shaved/goatee look going on is a coincidence.

I can think of a lot of overweight men who have normal hair. Who have long hair. Who have full beards. Who are clean-shaven. I'm not sure that's a fair connection.
