The other day someone asked me "Is Linux some new operating system?"

And so I had to explain to them how Linux has been around for over a decade and is in reality just another form of Unix which has been around since right after the discovery of computer fire.

I have been using Unix since SunOS 3.2 (1986) and starting using Linux on a fairly regular basis since Red Hat 4.2 (1997).

And I have to tell you, Linux started out dancing with tone-deaf ears and 2 left feet. But now, its quite smooth on the dance floor.

So what about you? How long have you been dancing with a penguin?
