Three of the deacons at my little church are very ill.

Dennis found out last week that he had cancer, and yesterday his oncologist told him he only has 1-2 weeks to live. He has been an incredible Sunday school teacher, and a wonderful mentor to many people ... not just in our church, but as a business leader as well.

Mark worked with the teens at our church and was part of our music team until he found out he had leukemia. Last week his doctors were saying he would be in the hospital a few more months, and then possibly be able to go home. Monday, after reviewing the latest round of tests, he was told that he only has another 2 weeks to live.

George, who heads up the men's prison ministry, with a passion for the men on death row ... who just recently conducted the second ever Bible study on death row ... just found out this week that his cancer has spread to his bones.

These are all wonderful Godly men with beautiful hearts full of love. Please lift them in prayer, along with their wives, family and friends.

Thank you.

Father God,
Thank You for the godly servants around us. I pray for these three deacons of Focusing's church, their families, and all those whose life has been touched by their service to Your church. May they be a powerful witness to Your love for them as they consider their challenges they face and find meaning in the time left to them of this life.

In Jesus' name,
Amen

Lord, we thank You for the lives these men have lived and the testimonies they are leaving. What a standard to reach for! May You be especially real to them and their families during this time. May they treasure each moment and may You engrave it in their families memories to hold to when they miss them. Help those who know and love them to come around the families and envelope them in Your love, peace and strength. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen

Dennis went home to be with the Lord yesterday afternoon.

Praise God that he was surrounded by family and friends when he passed. His granddaughter sang Amazing Grace to him just minutes before he passed. A good friend was reading from the Bible, and his wife was holding his hands which were wrapped around his Bible when he took his last breath.

He was an amazing man of God who touched so many lives.

Thank You Lord for taking him out of his pain and suffering, for Your endless mercies and grace. Thank You for sharing Dennis with us and allowing Your light to shine through him. Thank You for the position You placed him in, not only in our church but also in his professional life, that he was able to touch so many lives and demonstrate Your love. Thank You Lord for Your promises and that one day we will see him again. Amen.

Oh Lord, thank you for these wonderful man whom I have never met, but thank you that
they have such a testimony and have been spreading the good word Lord. Thank you that
they have been such a positive impact on this church, in their bible studies, with the death
row inmates. Thank you Lord...
My sympathy is with Dennis' family today. I praise God that he is with the Lord though and
has a brand new body...Just another christian person up in Heaven now, we will have victory
over the enemy!!

Praise God..

Wow. What a day.

Mark passed away this afternoon.

Father, thank You for sharing Mark with us. For being a guiding force for the teens in our church. For his contribution to our music ministry. Please be with his wife and family during this time. Amen.

Oh, my goodness! God knows His plans, even though they often make absolutely no sense to us. For these families, Lord, and for this church, how I pray Your amazing "peace, which passes all understanding, to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus"...and may You hold them close because "underneath are the Everlasting Arms". Amen.
