This past year, I've completely thrown myself into the study of apologetics. This stemmed from not being able to answer what I believe and why do I believe what I believe. Lately, I've been wrestling with certain questions that I've answered intellectually, but emotionally, I'm still wrestling with. I guess, I'd like to request a prayer that what I know to be true will translate to a deeper belief that covers my whole entire belief system. I pray that the wrestling will stop and that God will give me the peace to believe while wrestling with my unbelief.
Also, I've had this inkling to start a small group within our church. I belong to a really huge, seeker sensitive church. I don't belong in any small group because I can't get away too easily, being a single mother and all. Anyway, I've been thinking of starting a group that deals with the study of our beliefs. Our church does a lot of practical applications of the Christian belief but it does lack that element of engaging and grounding people on the intellectual level. So, often times, people that come to church disappears once they realize isn't working for them; isn't' solving their problems, or God isn't' bailing them out. This is common among megachurches where the focus is to get God to do something for them.
OK, I digress. My prayer requests is that God would give me direction in whether I should start this small group. My vision is to have a group of people that meets once a week to discuss the deeper issues of our faith--like why do we believe, what we believe, is it credible, does it stand up to scrutiny, are there evidences, etc--you know. Pray that if this vision came from God, that He would see to it that it materializes and He would use me to start this group. I pray that He would get the people ready to come and join me in this study. I pray that He would provide me with the leadership skills necessary, or give me a friend who can lead and I'll just use my place for the group. I pray for the right materials to use (so far, I use everything from STR.com). I pray for clarity, for intellectual honesty, for everything necessary to start this group. And for our church board to approve when I bring this us to them. I think this this group would be necessary in a big church like that. I pray that God gave me this passion to use for His purpose and glory.

If this vision is from the Lord he will surely provide accordingly!!
I believe if this is from the Lord he has also prepared the way before you.
Lord I lift prairehiker up to you.
Praying Lord that your direction in this situation and in prairiehikers life would be clear.
I pray Lord for your provision for this undertaking and your blessing on this group.
May your will be done

Father God,
I pray with Prairiehiker about her plan to host a Bible study at her house in wanting to learn more about You and the peace that only You can provide. I pray you give her discernment in whether to start this now or not. She has a sense as to how the group would be structured and the order of things, and prays for wisdom as to how best to present this idea to the board of officers at her church for approval.
Lord, I pray that Your will be clear in what is presented and voted on.

Help her in her quest for her belief to go deeper than academic...to go into her innermost being...and, of course, to be true...totally based on the Bible.
