Full screen is so much better on smaller TVs.

Watch a big, epic action movie (Star Wars is a good one) in widescreen, and then try to watch it in full screen. Full screen should be outlawed.

I like Wide Screen. With Wide Screen it is almost like watching it in a theatre but in a smaller screen. That is why the black boxes are on the top and the bottom of the screen.

Widescreen! Widescreen! Widescreen!
Fullscreen should be banned.
You don't get the full picture.

If the television is extremely small, then I guess fullscreen would be better. But in all other cases, without a doubt...widescreen.

Wide. Otherwise whatever flim-school tech does the pan-and-scan on it is basically re-editing the movie, changing it from what the director intended. And that's a bad thing.

widescreen- there is so much that goes into the art of cinematoraphy that full screen chops off especially epic movies like Braveheart, Passion of the Christ, Kingdom of Heaven
and then you get movies like the Zucker Brothers do Airplane 1 & 2, Naked Gun, etc that much of the humor is in the sidelines that get cut off on full screen

I prefer to watch in whatever aspect ratio the director utilized. Some, like Stanley Kubrick, opted for the "square screen" look.

I just get tired of people complaining about the "black bars". Here's a hint, if the curtains at the top and bottom of a movie screen don't bother you, neither should the black bars.....

The late Sydney Pollack (R.I.P, sir) had THIS to say about Widescreen vs. Pan & Scan.

Wide screen w/o a doubt (assuming it was filmed in widescreem!)

If it is a small tv, I'll sit closer before I'll put it on fullscreen.

I like wide screen, my wife, she likes full screen. So guess what. I have to watch the movie a 2nd time if I want wide screen. We purchased a big screen t.v. a short few years ago for the reason of watching all of our favorite movies without always having to go out to see them. But now, I prefer to go to the movies since I can't see the wide screen version at home... **SIGH*** Oh! The joys of marriage.

I like wide screen, especially on my laptop. But if it's a tiny tv, I would prefer full screen.
