Please this is not a dream for anyone to inturpet (sp< I am sleepy) that is TOS, so please no one do that. I know that sometimes dreams are just dreams, but, one I had last night disturbed me.
Here is goes, in my dream, I was asleep ( seriously LOL), in my bed when I heard the livingroom door bang open loudly. I ran to the frontroom, and in the doorway was man dressed in black like a terrorist. I screamed shut the door, as much as I could while the man pushed against it from the outside, I was barely holding ground when my husband, ran from our room to the living room, we both were trying to hold the door shut. My husband is huge, strong man, but both of us were barely holding the door, as the man pushed against it. My husband, normaly a very calm man said in a panicked voice, as the door cracked a liitle more, and he could see the man, my husband said " He has a bomb!", he was a suicide bomber. My husband then said as we were trying to brace ourself against the door, barely hanging on " What do we do?" knowing if we let go, we were dead, and if we did not let go we were dead. I said "I do not know!" I cried out in a loud voice to the Lord, and said " God what do we do?" The door struggle went on, and I woke up. When I woke up, there were tears ( real) running down my face.
I was thinking, with everything being so uncertian, jobs, childrens health, parents health, my SIL who is scizoprenic (sp) just pulled all her hair out, scalped herself thinking God told her to do it, in hospital, a new church after ten years, one child possibaly having cancer on and on. I stuff the things through working physically, until I can work no more. I just do not think when I work. So do you think ( no spiritual interputation please) that the sum of all of our fears comes in dreams, as the Lord does not want us to stuff our emotions and sorrow? Thanks

So do you think ( no spiritual interputation please) that the sum of all of our fears comes in dreams, as the Lord does not want us to stuff our emotions and sorrow? Thanks

I wouldn't say that ALL of our fears are manifest in dreams but that some are.

i agree - but not just fear, I think a variety of emotions can be manifest or exposed in dreams. Bible talks a lot about dreams.

the temptation to interpret this dream looms about.
God can use dreams... He can do whatever He want to.... and we have examples in the bible ... jacob, joseph, pharoah, king belshazzar. .... many more.
If we spend our lives looking for God - in everything- we will find Him in some of the most unsuspecting places.

One of the interesting things about dreams is if you don't wake up immediately after them you never know you had one. Most of us have many bazaar and interesting dreams every night we are completely unaware of.
Another interesting thing is when we do remember them, we very quickly began to forget the details. The memory of our dreams is apparently stored differently then other memories.
It doesn't sound like a very practical mechanism for God get information to us.

God never appeals to our emotions, He appeals to our minds. It is what we think that causes what we feel. What He shows us is where we are not thinking properly, so that He can replace those erroneous thoughts with truthful thoughts.
As I have said before, I once dreamt I was a burning bush and awoke with a start because of it. Should I have thought myself to be God? Or merely remembered that I had eaten pizza to close to bedtime? Dreams are a fickle thing.

God used dreams in the Old Testament and the early Church, but take a look at this:
In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son. Heb. 1:1,2
Dreams were one of the ways He spoke to prophets, but now God speaks to us by His Son. Jesus is the Logos, the spoken Word. And it got written down in the Bible, so we have the written Word. So God gives us a progression - information by dreams, which is replaced by information from Jesus.
Scripture says that God is the interpreter of dreams. (Gen. 40:8) So we don't know what they mean unless He tells us, and really we don't even know what dreams are.
I'm sorry you are having such a bad time, dear sister in the Lord.
Lord Jesus, I lift up my sister to You and ask that you refresh her and give her Your peace. Please give her a confidence that You are working things out, and I pray You would do so quickly so she can see and rejoice and tell others about how You care about her and her family. Please heal the child, make sane the SIL, help the parents' health, make the job secure or Your provision secure and her faith strong. I pray her new church will be encouraging and helpful, and I thank You for what You're going to do to bless her, for I pray it in Your holy name, amen.

Well your question is really 2 different matters. 1. Does the Lord use dreams to show us secret emotions? I would say NO.
2. Does the sum of our fears play themselves out in our dreams? Yes, but I don't think it has anything at all to do with God.
God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit, through His Holy Word, through our personal prayer and meditation time (fully awake) and through other Godly people.
I do not believe God uses our fears to send us a message. I believe such thoughts would be more from the devil. The devil brings torment, fear, unrest. God brings gentleness, peace, love, and wisdom, not confusion.

God absolutely appeals to the heart.
Case in point the 3000 that were cut to the heart by Peter's preaching. David stricken in conscience after numbering the fighting men of Israel.

Well, my friend, you are the first to ever accuse me of leading towards legalism. That will come as a shock to many on these boards I am sure. 
Emotions have no intellect, they cannot think, they cannot process, they can only respond; and they only respond to what we think. This is why God is constantly renewing our mind...as a man thinks, so he is.
As to the scripture you quote, I believe if you do a study of the meaning of the biblical use of the word "heart" you will be surprised at what you find.
