I have some modest proposals on how to celebrate Earth Day

  • Rent a Hummer
  • Burn algore in effigy
  • Go on a polar bear hunt; extra points for bagging a cub

I filled up the tank with about 20 gallons of gold.

Then in the forums here I suggested we should drill for oil in ANWR.

Rake up all the leaves and sticks in your yard. Then burn 'em.

Let your car warm up for an hour before you go anywhere.

Turn the heat up to 80 and open the windows.

Hug a tree, then cut that sucker down for firewood.

What if you bag a baby seal on that polar bear hunt?

Or one of those annoying dancing penguins?

Ok, here's a few ideas.

--smoke
--sponsor a big gathering of global warming alarmists, but say it's cancelled because of snow
--buy a private jet, and make much use of it (all in the name of stopping global warming, of course)

Because, unlike you yahoos, I really do care about the environment, in celebration of Earth Day I sent off a small donation to the Nuclear Energy Institute.

Barbecue a big ol' steak. Then serve it on styrofoam plates.
Turn on all the lights and other electricity stealing hogs.
Use a roll of toilet paper each use. Take that Sheryl Crow
Break out the hot rollers and use a can of AquaNet for some Big Hair

Be patriotic! !! Insist on referring to it as Arbor Day! (originally celebrated on April 22, now officially on the last Friday in April) Arbor Day predates the leftwing global environut movement by a good 60 years. It's been an official US holiday since the late 1800's.

Maybe we should worship a beach umbrella and a six-pack. (For Baptists that would be root beer. For Anglicans such as me, that would be a six-pack of Stella.)

Speaking of six-packs and littering, I made sure to leave a lot of plastic soda rings around duck ponds today.

Did you happen to see a large container of used motor oil nearby?

I recycled, a whole bunch. I will not go dancing nude around the yard, or anything pagan tonight though. Scare the neighbors anyway.

Earth Day? WOW. This is going to be fun. Question, what day is it suppose to be on though?

I am going to do my part. I am going to plant some trees so in 30 years time I can chop them down and just burn them.

I had heaps of fun with Earth Hour. It is amazing how much your house can hum with electrical activity.

Not Newcastle?

Which Newcastle? The world's largest coal port??? I love coal. Anything that produces my power and makes a greenie boil is a good thing.

(If I even dare to ask...)

What complaint do you all have against Earth Day? And you know...keeping the Earth sustainable for future generations?
