Elderly Friend with Excruciating Fracture - 8/5/2008 1:24:38 PM

Dear Lord, I lift up to you my elderly friend whose fractured pelvis brings no end of excruciating pain. Please help her to patiently be still in bed while she awaits the healing process (as the hairline break can't be set but heals only on its own). Please help her know Your deep and abiding presence even while under the influence of the sleep and pain meds the nurses make her take. Please bring comfort to the inner depths of her being by a very near closeness with You. Please be her All in all. I thank You for being the Great Physician who'll heal her body. She's such a servant to others. I thank You for her. Amen.

Lord, when your Son, Jesus, was with us, you healed many people through Him and His apostles. The blind, the deaf, the lame, and many more. Please look with mercy upon March7's friend. Help relieve the pain that she is currently experiencing so that she might rest while she recovers, and grant her patience so that she might be willing to rest during this trying time. Guide the doctors and nurses and other hospital staff so that she might get the best possible care available to her in her time of need. Please help her pelvis to heal properly and quickly so that she might once again experience life to the fullest, and please keep her from having any lasting side-effects from this injury or whatever procedures she must go through to have it properly heal. Most of all, though, Lord, let her have an out-pouring of support from friends and family so that she will know that many people are thinking about her so that it might lift her spirits, and also remind her that You are always looking out for your people. Especially the sick and helpless.
Lord, you are wonderful and gracious. Though we are all sinners, you continue to pour your blessings down upon us, and you remind us that we are all precious in your eyes. Therefore, we ask that you hear these prayers and help March7's friend as she continues to recover from her pelvic fracture with healing, patience, strength, support, and love. We ask this in the name of your Blessed Son, Jesus Christ, Our Savior.
Amen.
