You tune into your favorite show by hitting in the channel on the remote control. You watch your program, then 5 minutes into the program you realize that you are not only still holding the remote, but still pointing it at the TV as well?

LOL.

No. But then, I can't remember the last time I even used a remote control. Partly because I usually can't be bothered finding the thing, partly because I don't see the point in using up battery power for something that it'll take me a grand total of 5 seconds to do by getting up.

Oh, I don't watch much TV either.

Not ture, you have to use the remote if you have a satellite dish or Tivo.

I put the remote down, but sometimes I forget where I put it.

I have a dvr....I fall asleep during fastforwarding and rewinding and the kids yell at me and scare me awake! And of course, falling asleep to tv also ensures that I drop the remote a lot! The thing is held together by elastics. (Okay, yes, see, women not only use remotes...the abuse them! ) You'd think that our remote belonged to a hyper football fanatic that throws things when happy or angry. But, it belongs to a tired, homeschooling mom with sleep apnea, and has pneumonia.

Yes. Always ready to make that change when the chance comes! (And come it will...)

Except for your 1985 birthday I would have guessed you had lived through the Great Depression. No point in asking about your Blackberry I suppose?

The remote control is the last tiny shred of power that a man has in his home.

He can control something for a change!

He holds it tightly in his grip and awaits others to ask him to change channels, raise or lower the volume, or hand it over for a second.

Having lost it for a while, man weakens and shrivels like a dry leaf in autumn. His strength saps from his body like Samson with a haircut.

He quickly seeks the remote back, and grasps it tightly as his whole being regains its strength.

Thinking of which - has anyone seen the remote? Who's got it? Come on, where have you put the remote? Who's hidden it under the cushion? Why can't you leave it here on the table for once?

No, but that totally made me laugh out loud! You're either completely mesmerized or you fell asleep!

1We've attached the remote to the table leg beside the chair - works for us
