What type of eyeliner do you wear? How well does it stay put?

I'm looking for an eyeliner that won't smudge. Any suggestions? I used to use one that looked like a felt pen, and I loved it. It was made by either cover girl or maybelline. It was easy to apply. When I ran out of it, I couldn't find it again, so I bought a liquid eyeliner. I have found it tricky to apply, and it tends to smudge later on.

I am using CoverGirl perfect point plus atm and I like it, it seems to last for awhile too.
Its the kind that you twist up and has white eraser on other side.

I also use the CoverGirl perfect point. I like that you don't have to sharpen it. I use espresso on the top lid and a grayish tan color on the lower. It doesn't smudge unless you rub it, but it's not quite as smudge-free as liquid. Liquid takes too long to apply, so I don't use it.

I use THIS . I've been using it for years and I absolutely love it. Goes on easily; stays put; doesn't smudge and washes off easily with a gentle swipe of a washcloth.

I use the purple color (even though I have green eyes and it's "designed" for brown eyes).

I use Revlon Color Stay. It's the only kind I've tried that doesn't smudge, and I love how it goes on.

I use maybellene New York waterproof eyeliner. It's the liquid kind and doesn't smudge. I like the applicator too. :)

I don't bother with it. I either put it on too heavy and look like a raccoon, or poke myself in the eye.

I have and angled brush and I just wet it and dip it into wather, then into a neutral color eyeshadow and use that. It works and it is one less thing to carry around for the few times I do wear makeup.

Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner is my fav.

It comes in several colors. My eyes get watery on occasion, and this stuff stays put.
It is a self sharpening pencil.

Hmm, I guess it depends on the eyes/person. It's never smudged on me... provided that I let it dry when I put it on. I had used a pencil in the past... but that ALWAYS smudged.

I use Palladio Herbal Eyeliner. It's a roll-out pencil, and it works pretty well--doesn't smudge, but it soft enough that it doesn't hurt my eyelid.

I really prefer liquid, but they make my eyes itch and seem to take forever to dry. And I can;t seem to get them on without getting it in my eyelashes (I am clumsy.)

I use one by Jordana. It stays put even in our 110 degree days here.

I use a small brush , putting on it a little makeup from regular eye pencil (the kind you sharpen). Helps to get a thiner line that doesn't smudge as easy.

I use the cheapest stuff I can get my hands on .

But I do have a favourite way to apply (if I'm going somewhere fancy shmancy):

Dark eyeliner on lower lid, outer 3/4 of lid
White (yep, white) eyeliner on inner 1/4 of lid
Light barely-there shimmery colour shadow on top.

It really makes your eyes "pop," and in my case (for some reason) makes my eyes look much bigger.

If I'm only out and about, it's just the first of the 3 things. I find if I do the whole under eye I look very racoon-esque. And the 3/4 thing doesn't look silly at all, though it may sound silly.

No, it doesn't sound silly, I do that too. I haven't tried using white eyeliner before, though.

Flowerz: Try a light application of white liner or a light eye shadow powder on the inner corner if you'll be wearing a lighter shade on your lid.

Here's one link that mentions it, although there are a surprising number of sites that do: http://fabsugar.com/25623

I use this eyeliner, which has black on one end, white on the other. It's lovely.

I also do the 3/4 on bottom, and about 1/2 on top. I learned it from a Mary Kay consultant years ago. Before that, I lined the whole bottom lid. When I look back at pics, the 3/4 looks much better.

I use the Cover Girl twist-up kind that a couple other ladies said they used (with the white spongey tip at the other end). I use the espresso color. I love it. No sharpening, goes on easily. I do smudge mine a tad though, on purpose. I don't like the sharp line look.

Urban Decay has eyeliners that don't smudge. Their pencils are great, but they have some odd colors... a few that are natural looking, but most are a bit gaudy.

Lancome's Artliner is my favorite. It's a liquid that is fast drying and has a sponge applicator that is easy to apply. It comes in soft colors so you don't look like you are a... well, you know who's known for heavy dark colored eyeliner. I have trouble applying liquid that with a brush applicator, but this is easy to apply. Since it's available in a department store, you should be able to sample it to see how easy it is and what great colors it come in. IMO, it's the best eyeliner out there.

I don't wear any on my top lid, since every time I have tried it ended up looking funny.

I always apply eyeliner underneath my lashes on the bottom of my eye. Is that where most of you wear it?

Nope. I always wear it on my lid and rarely wear it under my eye. I usually smudge a soft brown eyeshadow (Bare Escentuals Glimmer Sex Kitten) into my lower lash line. I have to be very careful with how I apply eyeliner underneath my eye because too much can be garish. Too much on top can be garish, too... it all depends on the colors used, the application technique, and the shape of the eyes. What looks horrid on my shape of eye may be very complimentary to you.
