First off, I want to thank everyone that shared with me earlier regarding the "I need your prayers" thread. Thank you for allowing God to use you to minister to me. Ok let me explain. I have for most of my life lived a semi-"christian" life. I would go back and forth. In the past 10 months I started getting serious about serving God. The more of a "christian" life I lived it seemed the less peace I had. My whole life I had doubts about my salvation and could not get peace. I didn't understand. But Tues(9/16/08) morning at around 9:30AM I finally received peace. I have been miserable for the past two weeks, I was under extreme conviction and doubt. It became nearly unbearable last Sunday, in Sunday School we talked about the parable of the wedding feast thats in, I believe Mathew (one of the Gospels). It talks about The Groom inviting all to the feast and some came and they were clothed in White robes but one guy was in and was not dressed for the feast and the Groom asked how did you get in here and the Groom cast the guy out into outerdarkness etc (They were dressed by the Groom not theirselves). I thought, I am that guy I am clothed in my own rightousness (which is dirty rags). My whole life I was raised in a Christian home and new tons of the bible and about a christian life. But I was focusing on serving God and not God. I was trying to clean myself up and then come to Jesus, but Jesus wanted the dirty me, He didn't want the pharisee me. I now know that God loves me the way I am, He wants me to just believe in Jesus and what He did for me. I cannot do anything to "earn" a relationship, He just wants me, and while I was reading the post it finally hit me, I wasn't praying or anything (I had been earlier that morning) and When I realized that God loves me the way I am, and He wants me to just rest in Him and what he did for me, the burdon left then peace entered, I cannot even explain it. Now this verse actually makes sense; Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. I AM SAVED!!!! WHAT PEACE!!!! THANK YOU GOD!!! THANK EVERYONE THAT SHARED WITH ME!!!!!!

How wonderful to hear!
It's so amazing!! God & Jesus want us just the way we are. No more, no less. I got teared up reading what you wrote and I think it's beautiful the way you put it. It helps me to realize that They made us just the way we are and aren't asking us to be something we're not, as people on earth are subject to do. I'm so very happy for you and wish you continued peace.

Abounding,
Here is another good verse to remember, Romans 5:1 -- Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
There will probably be times to come when you don't feel peace, but this verse isn't talking about our emotional state. It's talking about the reconciliation that has taken place between us and God. So never forget to remind yourself that you have this peace, especially when you might not be feeling at peace. The message of the gospel is so contrary to human reason that we never outgrow the need to be reminded of it.

Thank you all for your input, and your prayers. I was baptized and gave my testimony tonight, it is awesome to be able to share what God did for me.
