Don't hate me, but I had this done to me today for the first time! It was a crazy experience because I had to take everything but my underwear off! Like if I was going to get a massage. Then, three ladies were working on me. It wasn't very relaxing. The lady doing my facial was the owner, kinda my friend too and we have kids the same age so she talked to me practically the whole time. Curious, it cost me about $40 for everything because there was a discount this month. Take a peek: http://www.totalbodycarespa.com/ A facial and french manicure/pedicure. What does something like this cost in the states??????????????????????? She even plucked my eyebrows! It was crazy!

A pedicure costs about twenty here. I don't have my hands done because I am far too rough on my nails (as in, the next day they are ruined!) but I love having my feet done and it lasts a long time..which is good since I generally only do it once a year, lol. I haven't had my face done, though.

facial - not sure, you have to go to the fancy salons to get a facial. pedicure 24.00 and up manicure 8.00 just for a manicure. It's more if you get the artificial nails and tips, etc. Glad you enjoyed it. It is a nice treat.

Wow ... okay, I'm heading across the bridge for a mani&pedi ... Here (my city) a pedicure is $45+ (up to $60 if you want them to use the paraffin to soften everything), and a manicure starts at $30 ... Facials are $75+

I do my own facials and as for my nails, I just keep them medium lenght, filed, buffed and shiny. I have been trying to make my feet look pretty, but I think they are a lost cause. I suppose I could go in for a pedicure, but I have never had one. Maybe one day though.

OP, you had all of that done at the same time. Here in the states, they generally do the massage, and mani/pedi separately. Another poster mentioned the paraffin, I love that stuff. It feel so wonderful to dip your hands in that warm, gooey wax. I need to schedule a day at the spa now. Now where to come up with the fundage for it all..But then again, Christmas is coming...giggles.

The upscale salons here charge a little more... Pedi $40 Mani $20 Eyebrows $20 Facial $75-$100 Of course, there is a Nail salon on every corner that have really inexpensive prices, but you have to be careful to choose one that is very careful about hygiene and cleanliness. I've had a nail fungus before and it was awful, so I would be pretty picky about where I go. I tell any friends who buy me birthday or Christmas gifts...I just want gift certificates to the local spas who do all that stuff. Any denomination and I can combine them for use.

I've never had a facial and find them kind of creepy I guess because the idea of some stranger massaging and messing with my face creeps me out. Plus, I like my skin as it is and think what I do myself works great! I have no idea what they run here. I get my nails done about every 3 weeks at a pretty nice salon and it costs me $30 for a fill and a manicure, $40 if I'm getting the old tips soaked off and a new set put on. It's usually more, but I get a pretty good break since I've been going to this lady for so long. Pedicures are $25. I usually have one done at the beginning of summer to get my feet sandal ready again, then keep up on them myself after that.

Yes, it was all at the same time and I'd never do it again! I talked to the lady in our church this morning that recommended it and she says it feels so good she falls asleep. Obviously, the owner isn't talking to her while she's working on her, like she does with me. I'm flying up to the states in a couple of weeks and I'd like to get a couple of products. Help me out ladies. What can I buy at Walmart or Bath & Body Works that is a nice oil for a foot spa? Is there a cream and buffer that you can recommend too?

If you go into bath and body and tell them what you are looking for and what type of scents you like, they will take you right to what you need. Walmart does carry some Watkins stuff, but I never looked further than massage oil. I use my facial moisturizer on my feet, but I order that and when my feet and hands seem extra dry I also use an enzyme peel that is meant for my face on them and follow up with my face moisturizer. I would go bath and body works though. They can actually help you find products. Walmart just kind of has what they have and that is that.
