How do we know whether faith is true or presumptuous? Are you asking about 'my' faith, 'your' faith, or 'faith' in general?

How do we know anything is true? : ) There are any number of tests one can use to validate a belief. Some people hold to the simplest of these ("if I hear about it, it's true!", for instance), and some do not hold to any of them ("there is no truth," perhaps). Personally, I tend to be a bit more pragmatic in some areas - I base something on the results it produces. Part of how I lost my "faith" in the 2-part government system here in America, but that's another thread. ; ) But one thing that has been confirmed, time and again, is the genuine nature of my faith in Christ.

How do we know whether faith is true or presumptuous? To presume is to dare or venture. It can be seen as overconfidence or bold. I see faith as being both true and presumptuous.

Using the Bilical definitions of the terms, how do we know whether faith is true or presumptuous?
