If we are saved, should we no longer fear death? Is it OK to still be afraid of physical death, either of natural causes or unfortunate circumstances? Sometimes I feel that it is part of our human nature to be afraid of physical death regardless of whether we are Christians. I am a Christian but I am fearful of dying from a car accident, heart attack, illness, cancer, murder, etc. Is this normal behavior or should I never be afraid of death? I would like to hear from you, whether you in the same boat as me or simply don't care of dying.

I've never cared for the idea of dying. However as I find my crooked places straightening I find myself less and less afraid. There's a saying that goes something like "a long life may not be good enough, but a good life is long enough."

I am not afraid of death. From what you posted I don't really think you are afraid of death either. It would appear we both are afraid of dying. I hope that makes sense. I am concerned with the pain and suffering I may go through while dying but not death itself because as a Christian I am promised and I believe I eternal life.

Sometimes I fear death, but not as much as I fear rejection...

Thank God we have some thing we can rely on to bring us to our senses. Death is a given and one that cannot be ignored and yet many try. Considering how much work there is to do n early death would be frustrating and yet as we grow older and weaker we all begin to want to die to be left in peace. However, at this present time considering how much God has for us to do it should not be a concern for while to die is gain we are not to consider our own desires but the needs of those who do not know God. The fact that we may all die at any moment should make us all be determined to be about God's work when it happens. Some amazing christians have died young and from our perspective that is sad but it is not about having so much left to do but simply about having faith.

I`m not afraid of death, but I am not looking forward to the process of dieing. So I hope like old Enoch and Elijah, I hope that I`ll be around when the rapture takes place so that I won`t ever have to go through the process of dieing. Furthermore "JamesL5" if your as young as your picture looks and your in good health, you and your generation may never see death, but could very easily experience the reality of the rapture of the Church. However this post is about death and not about the rapture, so lets continue to talk about dieing. So if we`re not raptured, according to Heb.9:27 we will all die. "Just as man is destined to die once, and after that face judgment." If you are a believer death will be like a consummation of us receiving our final rewards and for us to experience the thrill of being with Jesus and our loved ones forever. However if your an unbeliever, I don`t even want to describe the fear these people face every day of their lives when they think what if what the Bible teaches may be true after all. What if there really is an eternal hell for unbelievers after this life! So to all unbelievers fearing death I have this verse for you from Amos 4:12. "Prepare to meet your God".
