Hello all,
I was reading and meditating on Ps 139 this morning and I was reminded that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made". I thought about how awesome our God is and how wonderfully complex He made us. Despite our shortcomings, He has truly made us wonderful in His sight.
I was thinking about how the psalm says we are also fearfully made. What do you think that means? I'm sure God wasn't afraid when He made us, since He is not a God of fear and He did not give a spirit of fear to us. What then does it mean to be fearfully made? Any thoughts?

I think of being 'fearfully made' as being made in such a way as deserving of deep respect and awe, so great that it is beyond our comprehension. It points us back to our Creator and how awesome He is and what He is capable of.

Liveloved nails it. ''Fear'' in Scripture usually means ''reverential awe." So if we are fearfully made, then we can look and be maxed out on awesomeness because it's so complex and it works so well. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, it's wild it's so amazing.
