today on the god channel, the wife of rodney howard browne was blabbing when suddenly she lost the ability to complete a sentence.
all she could say was "it it", or "so then" and nothing else came out of her mouth but a little gibberish.
her face showed panic, but she tried to make light of it. this went on for 5 minutes, and she had to sign off the show.

uhhhh, okay. sure. for starters, i have no idea who G D is. in fact, where i come from, that's an abbreviation for a curse. if you say "God", you will not be incinerated by lighting bolts. the very fact that you posted that title seems to indicate a certain legalism in your view point.
secondly, how do you know it was God? it could have been one of a number of things. laryngytis, a cold, lack of sleep, stage fright, yada yada yada. i find it interesting how one small event happens, and the immediate reacton is punishment by God. oops, i spelled His name out. i hope i don't die of cancer now.

Firstly... since when did RHB become a "false prophet"? Oldskool revivalist, sure... but definitely not a false prophet.
Secondly... How are we supposed to "know" that this was "G d smiting the wife of a false of prophet"?
Thirdly... if it is, why glory in someone else's judgement? Let's consider praying for them.

I said that Howard-Browne was very much of an "Oldskool revivalist"... including all the things that go along with it. I never said he was right. My point in saying what I did is that the term "False Prophet" is too strong of a word for RHB. You want to make what I said more than what I said? Have fun. Until then, what I said stands. He shot his mouth off, and who hasn't? He is not a "False Prophet". He is incorrect in some of his doctrine.

The premise that God smote the wife is unfounded, it could well be a continuing part of the "Showmanship" this guy exhibits.

Now for Rodney. when does he get his? If this is an example of someone's platry definition of God "smiting" a person, it would seem there is very little to fear in it. Me being a "serve the Lord with fear and trembling" type, this doesn't even register as a blip on the radar screen of what happens when God smites somebody. Ananias and Sapphira... that is God smiting somebody. King Herod... that is God smiting somebody. Having a bad memory day? Not even.

adam, the Bible says what it says - it says the Lord laughs at those people who imagine a vain thing and the heathen who rage. the Lord laughs at such foolishness.

This was becoming a farce. I looked at Howard-Browne and he looked at me.
"Sorry," I said, and walked away, not laughing at all.

I choose to believe what God says in His Word, not your opinion. As well you should believe the Word rather than man. So, lets take a look at what that verse is talking about in context, shall we...quote:
Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, "Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us." He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." Psalm 2:1-6. So based on the context, what is the verse you quoted talking about? It is talking about Nations and Kings setting up for a war against Israel and God. So why is God holding them in derision? Because they are trying to go to war with One who can take away their breath without so much as a thought. So while your verse may be applicable, it is an incredible misnomer and poor use of scripture to make it say what you are trying to make it say.quote:

im SURE the apostles did not preach like her in the video, with nothing but stammering and gibberish.
and the Bible says the fruit of the Spirit is self-control, not laughing uncontrollably. that's not in the Bible; the ones who did things uncontrollably in the Bible were the demon-possessed.
