I think it depends on the size of the mole, the location of the body and the method of removal. My brother has had some taken off that required stitches and a couple of friends have had theirs frozen.

I had one removed from my belly last year. It hurt a bit later on after the numbing stuff wore off, but not much. I don't think I even took any tylenol or anything. If I did, it was just once. I did have stitches. It bled a bit.
I'm a huge chicken with doctors & medical stuff, but aside from being freaked by the bleeding, it wasn't bad at all.

I had a rather large mole removed from my back many years ago. The area was numbed, then a football shaped cut was made. I wouldn't say it "hurt" although the stitches itched.

Same as above, mine was on my back and frozen so I didn't feel it at all. I wish I had used something when it was healing (vitamin e) because I have a rather large scar there.

I did use stuff, and I still have a scar. :(
Oh well. It was worth it, I guess, knowing that it is gone and was cancer-free.

Yah, mine scarred, too. But, it was showing pre-cancer signs, so I had no choice. It had to come off.

I have a couple removed with a scalpel for testing every year. Stings a little as the numbing shot wears off. I have had several frozen off too. That's no big deal.
Having the Melanoma removed off my shoulder blade (along with some lymph nodes under my arm) was more unpleasant, requiring day surgery to take out a football shaped chunk about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long on my back and a three inch incision under my arm. The b was very sore and oozed fuid for about two weeks and left a wierd feeling tightness in my skin for a long time, over a year. I still have a big rugged scar on my back but the smaller incision under my arm is barely noticably.
But it's been six years and I'm still cancer free and still kicking so it was definitely worth the discomfort to get it off.

The smaller moles don't hurt much... maybe a little stinging/itching when the numbness left. But I had a spot taken off my shoulder that was a little tender for a few days. I haven't kept anything on it because I'm going back to have the rest of the cancer removed in a couple of weeks.

I had one removed several years ago. It was maybe one-half inch in diameter, and the root was fairly deep. The doctor gave me a local anesthesia, and while I still felt some pressure during the surgery, I didn't experience any pain.

Does that cold stuff they put on there really block out the pain? When I have to get needles in my foot they use that stuff and it just doesn't cut it for me. I still feel it.

I'm not sure what cold stuff you're referring to ... ? The doctor used an alcohol wipe to clean the area prior to giving the shot.

I just recently had 3 fairly large moles removed and it wasn't bad at all. I was concerned because dd was 6 month old and I had to handle her quite a bit. The worst thing is the stitches itched.

Tuesday is D-day for me. Getting my mole removed before it turns evil on me :-p
I was surprised when work doctor said they might give me a sick note for 3 days. Surgeon hasn't mentioned anything about it yet. I'll find out on Tuesday.

It went very quick once I was in the OR. He put some of that brown stuff to disinfect and gave me local anesthesia. Then it was just a few cuts and 3 stitches. Only felt the injection and shortly afterwards saw the mole. Never thought such a small thing could potentially turn evil on me. When the anesthesia wore off, I just felt an itch. I would love to scratch, but I know I have to leave it alone. In a few weeks I'll go for a check-up and find out the results of the analysis.
I met a friend the day after and he had a mole removed as well, but they used a laser with him. Don't know how that goes.
