I grew up in church and Jesus Christ was literally the first love of my life, I would have done
anything to make Him my #1 always, but I let people and my own stupid plans get in the way of
that wonderful and unconditional child-like love that I had for Him as a child/young teen.
I was super close to God up until my Junior year in high school, when life became this great big
race to be at the top of the social ladder, it continued to be this way until I was anorexic, had no
self-esteem left and was pretty much at the end of my rope. Then, I began to search for God's
face again, and when I finally found Him again, it has been so awesome! He healed me from my
eating disorder and literally, myself and the way I used to think of myself as worthless and ugly.
I am now in college and a leader at my youth group, yeah, now I get to lead others to the ONE
who saved me and loves me not because I am popular or beautiful, but simply because He
created me to be His! I am closer to God than ever before and I want it to stay that way from
now, until I see him face to face!

Growing up in a Christian home, I took my faith for granted. Here is what I mean. My parents took me to church on sundays and provided me with a bible and gave me a whole bunch of Christian tapes. There was only one problem, I was only a "Christian" because my parents said I was. There was nothing in my heart for God during my youthful years and quite honestly, I was only going to church because my parents forced me to go. However, this all changed when I got to college, I had a life changing (threatening) experience my freshman year which basically led me to Jesus Christ. I no longer worship God for the sake of my parents. I now walk with God because I want to, for this has become my desire.

How you can be close or unclose to God? God is omnipresent. He's just as close to one person as he is the next.
