Are not the parents responsible in bringing their children in the nurture of the Lord? Can we still expect or hope stronger future if the Lord will still tarry His coming? Children today will lead tomorrow!

I consider parenting a full time ministry. This is your second question that implies that you believe that the parents you are typing to are failing at something. I find that style of unfounded blanket accusation to be quite derogatory about parents in general - especially when you are aware that you are addressing Christian parents. Perhaps the questions you meant to ask are, "As parents, do you consider it important to bring your children up in the nurture of the Lord? How much time and effort do you put into that, compared to what you put into the everyday tasks of parenting? What does 'the nurture of the Lord' look like in your home? What effect do you think this kind of parenting will have on the future? Is there room for improvement in the godliness of your parenting style?"

Are you asking a question to learn something or just spreading judgement? Do you have kids and are you a perfect parent? Remember what Jesus said about taking the plank or beam out of your own eye before you seek to remove the splinter from your brother's eye. I believe leading my children to Christ is one of the, if not the most important part of parenting. I resent the use of the word winning. They are not conquests, trophies or prizes to be put on a shelf. My children are raised in the love of Christ and taught His ways. They will in their time choose to believe or not.

I believe it is not only important, but commanded. God told the Israelites that they were to diligently teach their children the ways of the Lord. Goldy children are one of the primary reasons God instituted marriage. Mal 2:15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. Remember: The only thing you can take with you to heaven is your family.

Remember: The only thing you can take with you to heaven is your family. Well... Not really? The way I understand it is that each person has to come to their own decision for or against faith in Jesus. I know I can influence my children -- probably dramatically -- but I can't actually take them to heaven with me. They aren't mine to take.

Thanks for all of what you are sharing. We truly are learning a lot from the convictions and opinions you have. Sorry for the approach we employ, we do this to learn more and have deeper understanding from the straightforward answers we got. If you may share us more on parenting; the manner, ways, and whatever that may assist us in building our families better than what we have now, we will most welcome. Godspeed!

This is one of the most important things, perhaps the most important thing you can ever do for you family. And it is a never ending on going thing. Living out your life in a Godly life style. Don't go with the old " Don't do as I do , Do as I say " Be sure your talk matches your walk. As a friend once said. " Your talk , talks, your walk. walks, your walk talks louder than you talk talks."Also be sure you have your whole family in a good Bible teaching Chruch, that will help more than you realize. I see it as my job to raise my children in the Lord (and my husband does too). My husband and I have Christ as the head of our household and of our marriage. We daily seek to follow the Lord. We pray together and read the Bible together daily. We teach our children how to pray and what it means to worship God. We are connected in fellowship and study with local believers. However, most importantly we pray to the Lord that He will draw our children to Him and give them faith to believe, and ears to hear, and eyes to see. Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Matthew 13: 15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. We have given them Bibles from a very early age, and we have taught them how to read it. In this sense, we are doing what we can to foster their own study, knowledge, and worship of God.

ORIGINAL: crankius I'm just curious--since you use "we", is there more than one person posting under your handle? Or were you using the we in the Queen of England sense--the Royal We? I use we because several of us are viewing and learning here. Thanks for being candid!
