I’m curious as to how you rate the movie theaters in your hometown. Do you have a favorite that you prefer to visit? Are you able to see all the films that are released or do you have to travel a great distance to see a film that is in limited release or miss it entirely?

We live in Dallas. We have movie theatres coming out of our ears. We have 30-screen "MEGA PLEXES"..... we have much smaller theaters, with only about 10-12 screens. While MANY are big chains (AMC and Cinemark), we also have a few "not so big" chains,...and locally owned theatres, as well. (but, saying that, Cinemark would be considered "locally owned", since their HQ building is just up the street from our house....right next door to, you guessed it, a Cinemark theater!) We have a good number of "Art House" theatres, which play "limited release"/"independent" films.... There are the "Studio Movie Grills", and others like it, to where you can sit at a table to watch your movie, AND, eat your lunch or dinner at the same time (great for "date nights", if you're pressed for time with the sitter or something).....the "kill two birds with one stone" concept.... There are two "$1" show theatres nearby, with others in other parts of town (to see "second run" movies for just a buck or two...)..those are each about 8 or so screens.... almost unlimited choices for theatres....any type....for most any movie....

Where I live now...tons of theaters everywhere with most of the released movies, unless it's a limited release and then ya never know. My hometown still has a drive-in and that's all they have. I wish we still had a drive-in around here.
