I was just wondering, who has snail mail penpals? How long have you had snail mail penpals? Where are your snail mail penpals? (General area, not really specific). Where did you find your snail mail pals?

Well, hey there!
I've got several snail mail pals. Can't count them just at the moment though as things are in transition. I have several regular pals. Some who don't write as regularly due to illness or other things, and I've got some new pals who are about to start writing.
I have penpals from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France and Jamaica.
In the past, I've had pals from Japan, Africa and Trinidad. The ones from Trinidad and Africa ended badly, and I lost contact with the Japanese woman.
I'm not into swapping or friendship books though.

I have a few friends that I exchange cards/gifts with through snail mail on occasion, but none where that's the main or even usual avenue of communication. I used to have a few in high school, but I like email and instant messenger now for written communication...instant gratification, I guess

My snail mail pals always ask me for money.
The electric company for instance - they suggest I pay them more regularly every month.
The phone company were suggesting that maybe I don't need the phone anymore seeing I "forgot" to pay them.
I'm getting tired of all these begging letters asking for money. Maybe I should stop sending them.
