We have to drive 30 miles for the nearest theatre. That's gas plus the cost of admission. It doesn't happen often.

There's a theater who charges 3.50 for matinee but then a few months ago, it was raised up to 4.50. However, our nearest AMC theater now offers $5 in all movies from Mon - Thurs this summer (both matinees and evening showings). $5 is the matinee price on Fri, Sat, Sun but the evening shows in the weekends cost more. We went to see Get Smart last night (8pm) and I was surprised the theater was packed on a Thursday night. A lot of families going since the $5 deal.

$6.00 in my hometown theater and $6.50 in a theater ten miles away. I think it's a fair price since summer prices are usually a little lower.

We have a theatre about 30 minutes from us that charges .50 cents for the early shows. They start around 4-5pm. This has been great!!! The six of us for 3.00! We do have to wait a little bit for the movie to get to this theatre though, they start at the regular theatres.

Its $7.50 per adult to see an evening flick in Fargo. Don't even get me started on the price pf popcorn and such. A couples pack with a large popcorn and two large sodas is about $10.50... if they haven't jacked the price up, again.

It's $20 dollars here for bottomless popcorn and two sodas. Generally my best friend and I split the combo, dump the popcorn in ziploc bags for the kids and then bring water or juice for them. We end up refilling the popcorn bucket about 3 or 4 times. I couldn't tell you the last time I went to an evening show. We always see the matinee. But the good theatre (the Rave) is almost an hour drive and with gas prices the way they are we only go for special occasions. Now we're watching movies in the local theatre and it's hideous...LOL I looove the Rave so much better. *sigh*

It's about $15 for two sodas (medium or small) and bottomless popcorn. All told, a trip to the movies for two people is about $36. When we took our four kids to see the new Indiana Jones movie, that trip was over $100. Needless to say we don't do this very often. Oh, I didn't even mention the gas. The nearest theater is almost 30 miles away.

It's $7.50 for the early shows at the "good" theater here (the one with stadium seating) and slightly less for the "not so good" theater. Not sure about evening shows because I try to avoid the full price ones. I usually do Fandango for movies if it's the first weekend, and there's a small service charge, but it beats having to get to the theater early and possibly even then not getting in for a show (this weekend when we went to see "Wanted" by the time we got out of the multiplex there was a line of like 150+ people waiting to buy tickets, mostly for Wall-E (because there were a lot of under-10yo children in line). And the last time I got drinks and popcorn for me and my two DD's, it was about $24.

We have a theater here where you buy a bucket pail of popcorn for $10 but that thing is good for 12 months. Well the way it goes is that we bought the bucket (blue) last year in June and it was good for free refills from June to Dec of 07 then June to Dec of this year. Red bucket is for Jan-May. So you just wash it, it's plastic, and just keep bringing it in the theater. The drinks are also free refill so it saves money but then we buy candies at Walgreens where they sell a dollar for a box movie candies.

It is also 9.50 where i go, not to mention 11.00 for popcorn and a soda. It is getting a little ridiculous.

Most are around 8.25-9.5 dollars. But I've noticed some going to 10 for weekends within the past few months or so. For art films, all the smaller area theaters have a program where you can pay just 6 dollars per ticket if you buy 5 at a time. So that's what I do as I go to a lot of movies. Otherwise they are 8.75

You can see a film at a repretory theatre for about $6.00. First run films range anywhere from $7.50 - $13.00 depending upon the venue. $7.50 is usually for a traditional Cineplex or Famous Players theatre. You usually pay around $13.00 for a "stadium" seating cinema. Snacks are so ridiculous in price we simply take our own choclate bars with us. Sudden

Wellllll, we don't have a movie theatre in our town. We have one intersection for crying out loud. But the closest movie theatre is about 5 dollars. I don't really know, cos I never go there. It's really dirty there. So I try not to go near there. But I know ANOTHER one which costs 8 bucks. It's outrageous.

daytime tickets are either 6 or 6.50, depending where you watch it and what season it is. night tickets are either 8.50 or 9. and we always smuggle food in. once we stuffed taco bell burritos in our purses, when we got into the theater there was only one other girl and she had snuck in chinese food. we all laughed about it.

Years ago, we did bring in some Mickeydees in the theater, however, once we opened the bag, it smelled through the entire theater and someone complained. An usher asked us either to leave or throw the food out. From then on, we would just eat before going to the movies but we still bring our own drinks and candies and other snacks and all fit in my purse.

I suspect the people who complained were only peeved that someone had been smart enough to bring food in when they didn't think of it. All those yummy smells probably drove them crazy, enough to complain. Matinee cost $8.50 (price got raised.ugh), forget what the later movie showing cost, probably almost $11 now! I always smuggle in drinks, I think I may have smuggled in food once or twice.
