Can someone explain the US car industry to me? Why are 2009 models out in August when inventory of 2008 vehicles is larger than the demand? Maybe Wagoner and friends should step down and let bakers take over their businesses. I believe the big three need to stop production, sell off their current inventory or at least bring it down to manageble levels, help promote maintenance and retool their plants to compete with our international counterparts. This would not only provide them with some breathing room but it would address many issues related to employment, distribution, manufacturing and profit margins. But I guess this would go against common sense as well as the politically driven influence of the outdated Union mentality of supporting sub-par performance. Hey didn't Regan have some success with dismantling a union???
