My husband graduated from teacher's college last May. After much volunteering and getting his name out there he was hired as a supply teacher and after 2 weeks was able to get a position for a maternity leave. However, the position ended in June and he has been unemployed since. We are currently looking for a new teaching position (he's still on the supply list.) The area is swamped with teachers right now. We've applied to 85+ jobs, and been interviewed twice. Most jobs get 700 applicants! We're needed a permanent job, and would prefer that it is in the teaching field. He has worked so long and hard for this. God has worked everything out so far. I'm worried, though I shouldn't be. We're pregnant with our first and I will be off work as of February. We need your prayers for faith and a new job. Thank you so much! Leah

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'll pray Leah but maybe he could look into substitute teaching? I did this some years back and was required to go to a 3 day seminar put on by our school district first-- one of the speakers had been doing substitute teaching for like 10? years because he liked it so much but he originally started out doing it because he could not find a job. So for him it became a "permanent job" ....My own experience was more limited as I just wanted to sub for certain subjects, ,even though he had advised people to be more picky later on, and that it was better to take everything offered until they got to know you and called you regularly. Anyways just a thought. Lord please help Leah's husband to get the job that you have for him, and please let it be soon if possible. Help Leah not to worry in the meantime and help them to have enough until the right time comes. In Jesus name amen.

Lord, I pray for Leah and her husband. Lord, I thank you that you are our provider. I pray you would bless and prosper them and provide a job for Leah's husband. Give him favor with those interview him and give him just what he is looking for in a job. Give them peace, Lord and strengthen their faith through this. Take away all anxiety and give them a sense of calmness, knowing that You are in control. in Jesus name, amen

If it's less than that it will be very difficult. I am working hard on staying strong in my faith. I know that God cares for us and is taking care of us, but when I sit and think about it things feel impossible. I continue to pray and believe that all will be well.

Lord, I humbly ask that you look down upon Leah and her growing family. Lord, I thank you for the gift that you are bestowing upon Leah and her husband. You are indeed wonderful and gracious, as you are about to bless them with the most precious gift a married couple can experience, next only to the gift of salvation through Christ: the gift of a child. Please look after this baby. May it grow to be healthy and strong in its mother's womb. May both Leah and her husband cherish and love this baby for all their days, and may it fill their life with happiness and wonder and joy. God, bless this child like you wish to all your babies on Earth. May it be the absolute love of its mommy's and daddy's hearts. Lord, also look with favor upon Leah's husband. Help him to find a job so that he can support his new family. Lead him to a position in teaching where he can fill the young minds of other people's children with knowledge and wisdom. Help him to be a good leader for them so that all the kids he will teach can learn well from him, and give him that sense of happiness that he will reap when he realizes that he is doing his best for both his child and other people's. Lord, let Leah and her husband remain strong through the times of his job search. May they rely upon one another for support and love, and may this draw them and their unborn baby into a deeper, more meaningful walk with you. God, you are truly a wonderful Lord. While this family is dealing with uncertainty, you have given them a marvelous gift to look forward to in the new life you have implanted in Leah's womb. Jesus at one time told us to ask and we shall receive. Thus I ask that you bless them and keep all of them safe as they prepare to move into this next stage of their lives. All of this I humbly pray to you in the name of your Holy Son, Our Blessed Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank you for your prayers. We're still looking for permanent teaching work, but he has been able to start working construction with a man in our church who is willing to employ him but also allow him to supply teach if he gets called in. God is good. Please keep praying.

I will certainly be praying for your husband to find a great teaching job. A lot of us are looking for work right now, as the economy is bad, and unemployment is up everywhere. I really pray your husband finds a teaching job very soon. Good luck with your pregnancy! I have faith that all will work out well for your family!

Thank you for your provision in the temporary job! You are so good to us, praise you and thank you for your kindness to us. I pray for teachingforhim child, for a healthy delivery, and thank you that there are godly parents that will be committed to raising their child in you. I commit this expectantly to you, know that you hear our prayers, and will answer. In Jesus Name Amen

Just keeping this alive...we need prayer. We actually bought a house today. With rent and mortgage being the same (actually a mortgage is cheaper) we jumped with a leap of faith. We've been praying about it for a year. We wrote out a specific list and prayed for a house with everything on the list. We almost immediately found the house (back at the end of June). But we weren't sure, so we didn't do anything. The house stayed on the market for 75 days, it was under priced, and other comparable houses in the neighbourhood aren't staying on the market for more than 1 month. We continually went to God while looking for other houses. When we decided to jump we broke down the numbers and presented our request to God. We prayed over everything and saw that it was definitely do-able as long as hubby is able to work supply teaching/construction. We then asked God to reveal if it was His will or not. We weren't sure about an answer. We listened long and hard and felt that it was a yes, but didn't know if that was emotion or not. So we prayed that if it wasn't it just wouldn't go through...everything went through. God has revealed to us that we are responsible with little so He can make us responsible with much. From January - June we were able to save our entire downpayment. We realized how responsible we have always been, never going past the end of a month without paying off credit cards, etc... We know that the timing is right. Nothing is for sure, but God is big enough!!! I know this is long. Thank you if you took the time to read it. I needed to write it. Please take the time to keep praying for us. Thank you!

btw I wasn't sure what supply teaching was till I looked it up. ;) I guess you must be in the UK. I guess my substitute teaching advice was a bit redundant. I'm sure (Lord willing) he will get a lot of jobs come September. Let us know how you (both) are doing.

Casey, your advice wasn't redundant! :) We live in Canada, people here call it substitue teaching as well, but in our area it's supply teaching. I don't know why... Things are going well. Matt is working construction and hoping for teaching jobs. School starts tomorrow and I'll be back in my classroom. Hopefully work will start pouring in! Thank you all for your prayers, we still need them, but we definitely feel them. We are at peace and know that God is in control of it all! Leah
