Hi all.

First off, I just wanted to thank everyone here for all the amazing support I got before I enlisted. A whole bunch of crazy things happened, but I made it all the way through initial entry training and am now a Chaplain Assistant with the Army. The Lord was faithful.

My husband is also a Chaplain Assistant, stationed at another base. We met in training, fell in love, but did not pursue a relationship until we were out of it. We later married because we knew we wanted to be committed through everything, including his upcoming deployment.

He deployed two months ago, and is already being sent back to his base to be treated for psychiatric issues. His downward spiral is pretty much connected to the one I had 4 months ago. It's hard for someone to keep their head on straight when they have someone they care about at home who is suffering.

I was diagnosed with Major Depression after recovering some memories of sexual abuse by my father soon after our marriage. I got treatment, and after consideration from all parties involved, we decided to start a medical chapter (which means I leave the Army... if it gets approved) which I will be waiting for any news on for some months.

I've been in a whole lot of emotional pain. My husband being gone is part of it... (but it's something I knew was going to happen and can deal with.) But not being able to find a faith community in which I fit - not having the support of family and friends, not really able to perform at my job, it all takes a toll.

It's times like these I remember the Beatitudes. The kingdom of Heaven is upsidedown and backwards in proportion to the worlds standards, and I remember that the broken are blessed.

I just ask for prayer. Of any kind, and for anything related to this. I know that if God's will is done in this situation just as it is in Heaven, it will be more than I could imagine myself, and I trust Him, even if sometimes I feel angry at Him.

Thank you everyone for your kind support.

Father God,
I'm in prayer tonight for this couple- a couple of chaplains in Your service for our armed forces. Please bring healing and soundness of mind to these Your servants. Guide, protect, and provide refreshing rest to our armed forces overseas in harm's way. Comfort families divided. Lead us to resolving cessation of warfare soon.

I pray this in the precious name of Christ,
Amen

Father,

Thank you that this couple has a relationship with you. Please give your solutions and your healing to them. Bless them far, far beyond our requests in such ways that will glorify you. Thank you. We pray for PureOath and her husband in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I can relate as I am struggling with depression right now due to the loss of my husband and the years of cancer treatment and surgeries. I loved him a lot and he was my best friend. It's good if you can be together as a couple as much as possible to build your strength. I would not let my husband go to camp jobs or jobs where we had to be apart in our early years of marriage as I saw that as a struggle. I know we could have had more money that way but I wanted him home instead.

Thanks everyone for your continued prayer.

Husband's in Germany, on his way back to his post. Now praying one of us will be able to get leave to see the other.

:)
