At least there are a few facts, if I did: * I'm a born-again Christian. * I know I'd get at least one vote (my own!)

Unlike John McCain, I'm a proud born again Christian but I wouldn't run. I couldn't run because after 9/11, my pastor noted that 3000 American babies die via abortion every week but flags aren't at half-mast for them. I couldn't run because though I've tithed most of my life, there was a period in the 90s that I didn't and my tax returns would show that. I couldn't run because in my adult life, I'm a flip-flopper. I've been registered with the Democrats, the Republicans and was an Independent at one point. If records exists, there'd be documentation that I worked in John Anderson's 1980 campaign against - I know it's a sin to say - Ronald Reagan. I couldn't run because the records will probably show that I got preferential treatment in college. The senior advisor's cousin was Director of Admission where I went to undergrad (his alma mater) so he called to have the three of us who went there $300 scholarships. In grad school, I got a race based scholarship (I was given an academic one but when they saw I was black, the school moved me to over to minority which allowed a white guy to get my academic) so that would also disqualify me from the presidency. And the main reason to disqualify me, I worked with an abstinence program at my church. One of the young women acknowledged that she had had an abortion. I didn't call her a baby killer. So I won't run cause I won't win for the aforementioned reasons.

Yeah, you'd get hammered on all those points............ unless you were running as a liberal (socialist) democrat. Then they would explain that you had made a few mistakes in your younger years. -Dave quote:

Let's see. I am 52 and never married (not gay). Uglier than sin. Meaner than a snake. Am an originalist. Would eliminate every Cabinet position other than the State Department and the Defense Department. All else returns to the States. Sell California back to Mexico.

I'm qualified to run...I am an U.S. citizen, and am over 35 years of age. Course I probably wouldn't win because I'm an average American, not a professional politician, I love the Lord and my family and neighbors, I believe in the power of prayer, I served our country honorably as a soldier in the Army, and I've made many mistakes in my 56 years of living. I wouldn't win because I would pray every day, read the Bible every day, have southern gospel groups singing at special functions, and I could relate to ordinary joes. I would get several votes, though...I have a huge network of cousins since my ancestry in this country goes back to the 1600s (many of them served in the Revolutionary, War of 1812, Civil, Spanish-American, WW 1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and current wars). I would urge beating our "swords" into "ploughshares", and earnestly pray to our Lord for peace. Irvin L. Rozier, Chaplain, American Legion Post 181 aka walkin2e

Ditto on those things for me also, but we don't need them to debate the issues here (not that it really does much good, but it allows us to vent). -Dave quote:

Irvin, first of all, let me thank you for your service in the Army. We don't tend to thank those who have served nearly enough. I also was in the Army (it was peace time then, well, sorta) so I'm kinda sensitive to those issues. Your resume sounds good to me. I could vote for you too. -Dave quote:

I couldn't win.......... Christian, too honest, I am over 35, never been arrested nor accused of a scandal, proudly wore the uniform of the US Army. See, all these things are working against me!! Thanx so much for asking, though, -Dave PS: I'd have southern gospel groups too. quote:

That would be nice to actually get a leader that practices what they preach. It would be nice to get a true Bible believing Christian for President. Someone who really stands up for what he/she believes in. Jesus said, if you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father in heaven. You know you always see "God bless America" and the President often says "God bless America." Just what God are they talking about or do they just use it to make people feel good? God cannot bless a godless America. So yea, we need a President that will sacrifice his power to bring back the Biblical principles that this nation was founded on.
