The words for glory have to do with weight and fame (I forget which is which... Weight is Hebrew, I think, and fame is Greek...). God's glory is in His name - i.e., His character, who He is. When we glorify Him, we are increasing the fame of His name - that is, we are showing the world how great God is because of who He is. Because of how truly glorious God is, we, as mere mortals, cannot comprehend it in its fullness - at least, not in this life. Not sure if that helps at all, but I'm also not entirely sure exactly what you're asking. : )

Heb 1:3 The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. Guess this is what I'm talking about. Bob

Adonai's glory is beyond definition. Any reference to Adonai's glory is limited by the context in which it is used. Therefore, we must be careful to not presume any representation (image) of Adonai is the fullness of Adonai. To do so is idolatry. The Scriptures do tell us that Yeshua is the fullness of Adonai, but no one has been able to fully define Yeshua either.

Knowing the glory of God is a relative statement. Obviously in this life and maybe even in the next, we don’t understand fully the glory of His Majesty. However through the vision of Christ that we gain from the bible and through understanding gained from the Spirit of God, we can gain as much as God intends. The more we grow in the Spirit the fuller we comprehend God’s magnificence. Bob

What you're suggesting eliminates that possibility. Idolatry only comes when we worship something entirely "other" from God. God has no problem if we comprehend those aspects of Him which we can.

ORIGINAL: pinopolitan What exactly is God's glory? 18 And he said, "Please, show me Your glory." 19 Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion." 20 But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live." Think of the veil that seperated the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place as a type of filter.. whereby all that is written in verse 19 above was all that was going to be given until Christ came. ......now with that veil being removed and Jesus entering into the into the Holy of Holies there is no long a veil but Christ Himself according to verse 6 below.. So now we have to go thorugh Jesus who is in the Holy of Holies to get to the Father and the Father vise -versa to get to us, by His Holy Spirit....because "We cannot see His face; for no man shall see Him, and live." quote:
What exactly is God's glory? John 14:4-11 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know." 5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." 8 Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." 9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Gods glory is Jesus Christ. LG

First where are we "called to comprehend God's greatness". I presume there is some context missing here. Also, comprehending Adonai's greatness is not the same as elevating our understandiing to the level of absolute reality. In my opinion, Adonai is beyond our comprehension.
