To make a very long story as short as I can, we are hosting some people from another country for Christmas. We do not know these people -- I "offered" our services as "host" when they were talking on another board about wanting to "cruise" for Christmas where they would learn most about the traditions of an American Christmas. I told them that they should visit with a family for Christmas to find out what a "non-hollywood" Christmas is like in America and casually mentioned that we would host them. Other people on the board agreed with me and told the family that they should take me up on our offer. Well -- we prayed about it and decided to follow through. We have written LOTS of emails and exchanged many pictures of ours/their life. We have had the opportunity to speak about our Christian faith and they are not "opposed" to it even though they come from a country where life is more "casual". Anyway --- We are hosting them for 5 days and then they are going on ANOTHER cruise (they cruise nearly every year from Miami) over New Years. So -- we are showing them an American Christmas but .... here is our dilemma..... What ideas do you have for a Christmas present? We were thinking about a piece of pottery that they could serve pasta, etc from that we, as a family, would create and paint, etc But that is about the only thing we can think of. We dont' want to give them "touristy" things, we dont' know their decorating ideas, their house is typical of that area (3 floors with only one bathroom)... Any ideas? Also =-= They are bringing us some "food" items from their country so that we can try it but I am trying to think of something that is AMERICAN that they wouldn't be able to get over there. Candy (what is "American"?) -- packaged food they can transport? --- HELP I need ideas -- they are coming in a month and a 1/2 :) Hope we can get some help here --
