NOTE: This is a hypothetical situation. Any resemblance to any situation you may have had implicitly or any other way is purely incoincidental, and should not be taken as an attack on your past, be harmful, or cause you any grief or pain. Hi She Sayers, In an earlier post, I invited you out on a first date with a dating couple we both knew, Jack & Jill, to the Cafe de la Large Portions. Our friends took us completely by surprise, and they were escorted to the register and the door long before our meal was over. We didn't see them again that evening. They did put a note on my windshield saying they were sorry. I still regret not being able to whoop Jack in mini-golf. Well, you and I have not quit talking to each other over the whole episode, nor have I sought to date or double date since then. And now, we find apologies coming from both guilty party people (or rude people), whatever you want to call them. Jill attends church with you, and Jack with me, and we go to different churches. J&J know each other from college days through Campus Crusade for Christ. Jack has explained to me that he and Jill have had some Large discussions about life and the future and such. Jill confides with you that yessiree, the two of them were out shopping around looking at metal bands and diamonds and such, and are just giddy about things, especially at how things are looking for Jack at the bank he works at. Well, that didn't take much for you and I to decide we'd been out with some lovebirds just shy of the big question being proposed. Jill is an avid golfer, and she'd like to whoop up on the rest of us all with a follow-up and conclusion to our date. Jack, well, some call him Nickalaus while others just Benimble. You wouldn't know it, but I've got a fair game myself, and none of us know you grew up next to a mini-golf and know the rebound responsivity of all whackable surfaces on a course. In fact, you've been known to skip a ball of a neighboring hole's water hazard to get your shot on the final green. Weather conditions look great for this Saturday, today being Thursday. I call you and ask if you'd like to try to whoop up on some lovebirds, that I think they've had time to think about their behavior and are not likely to repeat. Would you say yes, or them? N-o, no, no, no OneJohn, they'll just mess up another evening. Then if you want, you can add why. Thanks, OneJohn410

NO! I Don't like Miniature golf. Nuff said! I might suggest you and I go to the driving range instead and whack some balls into oblivion...and have a contest to see how far into oblivion you can whack those thingies. That's as far as I go when it comes to golf, or spending time with rude companies.

Due to a lack of interest, I passed on the golf invite Saturday. Those of you who are green-jacketed putt-putters, your secret remains unknown. I haven't heard anything more about an engagement.
