Just wanted to share a verse. I stumbled on this a couple of weeks ago and I just found it again. Enjoy!:)

'When it(my will)happens the truth of my word(s)will be clear.' It's a self proclaiming prophecy. Earlier in vs. 14, "If(when)you ask anything in[and for]my(Jesus')obedience it(my will/obedience)will be accomplished."

This is a great way to collect 50 different interpretations of the Bible, and then what? Argue yours is correct?
This one little verse, all undescriptive all by itself, relates to Jesus promising the Holy Spirit to his disciples following his acension to be with God. They are being promised a helper in Jesus' absence, the Spirit of truth.
LCannon put the verse right back in there, and when that's done, things are a whole lot easier to see. I just had to mention that it's a Jesus-promise to the disciples in this case, and not a disciples pray for the Spirit and receive it.

Oh no! I just thought is was a good verse and wanted to share it. I didn't really expect a debate or even really much of a discussion to come out of it.

I just thought of when Jesus went to Hades to witness so that those there could either accept or reject Him. And many of them would have known Him, such as Jacob because he wrestled with Him... etc, etc...

I believe regardless of the interpretation of this verse we can all embrace it to be our own. I believe that these things are subjective enough to allow us to make insightful observations about our own lives and help with our current life situations. Thank you for sharing

I didn't read anything about that in that one verse, or even in the chapter. I'll have to look at it again. I've never heard about Jesus witnessing in Hades. All I recollect about that was He went there to take posession of what was His- some 'keys'- that He had become ruler of all at that point, and so liar no longer had any power.
