there is a thread already that was started talking about this movie being trash, but I didn't want this thread to be on that...so if you feel it's a duplicate then that's ok...I just wanted a place for this new series and to talk about it and the characters and story lines) since the other thread is about the movie and this is about the series it's two different topics :) I think it's fine.

I don't think a full series has been greenlighted yet, has it? From everything I heard the movie was considered a "backdoor pilot"... in other words, a freestanding movie with an opening for a TV series left at the end big enough to fly the FLAG C-130 through. Speaking of the movie, I thought they did about as good a job of putting together a "classic series" revival vehicle as any I've seen recently. The only issue I had with it is that the whole "bash Blackwater" plot is getting old.

We could know as soon as Friday depending on the ratings last night. I thought it was good, and I liked the Hoff's cameo. The only things was that the new KITT voice (Val Kilmer) seemed a little too unfeeling. William Daniels was able to give emotion to the first KITT's voice, and you'd forget that it was a CPU. Made me want to see fotage with Arnet's voice to compare. I think they made it belevable about Tracuer being MK's son, and unlike other movies of this type, he wasn't an unkown kid.

The fact of Val Kilmer being the voice of KITT is probably the only reason I'd watch it. The remakes of several of these old shows did not do well for reasons. Maybe this one will break that pattern.

I have removed off topic posts. If you want to talk about how bad the movie was, we do have a thread running here NBC Knight Rider Movie = trash From the OP of this thread quote:
there is a thread already that was started talking about this movie being trash, but I didn't want this thread to be on that...I just wanted a place for this new series and to talk about it and the characters and story lines If you want to talk about how bad the movie was, use the other thread. This thread is to talk about the series and the characters that are spun off from the movie. Sincerely Kath Volunteer Assistant Administrator Please do not reply to this message within the Community. It hasn't been decided and if it goes it'll be nearly a year before it begins, I think. We enjoyed the movie last night. It was true to the original in that it was redeemed by its effects, but then, the acting is not usually good in a pilot because the characters haven't gelled with one another yet.

Saw portions of the new Knight Rider and, of course, it's not as good as the original. What's next? A remake of Airwolf? Actually...that might be kinda cool...

I vaguely remember the show. My brothers watched the show growing up. I don't know why I didn't watch it with them.

ORIGINAL: peculiar_lady2 I remember watching it and Quantum Leap on tv....not sure if it was in reruns by then though (probably was). my hubby is older then me and remember very well watching it growing up. It and that Don Johnson tv series were his favorites. Yup- it would've been reruns. KR was probably about 10 years old or older when Quantum Leap started.
