At NQC, a friend introduced me to the members of Liberty Quartet. Since then, I've listened to their recent projects and become a fan of the group. They're definitely in my top 20 favorites, and they've probably made my top 10, too. They are a full-time group based in Boise, Idaho that mostly tours the West Coast. They do both projects of familiar songs and projects of new songs. Does anyone else here enjoy them?

I LOVE Liberty Quartet! My parents told me about Liberty so my husband and I made a point of saying hi to them at the Fan Fest in Fresno, CA. That was nearly three years ago. Keith and I hit it off right away and I have my picture taken with him whenever we see them... which isn't often enough! Everybody needs to check them out.

Daniel, They have a DVD that has just been released, or is coming out very soon. You do need to hear them in person though. Cheryl

It just SO HAPPENS that we saw them this past Friday night! They do an annual tour down into California in January, and they come to a church in Ripon where we get to see them. It was great seeing them again! If I understood correctly, their DVD is supposed to come out around the end of the month. They have a great sound and some funny humor too! (Hi Cheryl!)

Hi Janice! How great that you got to see Liberty Friday! I do wish they could drive just a few more hours south! We are going to Bakersfield to see the Dixie Melody Boys on Saturday. My parent's saw them last weekend. We most likely won't be sitting in the same row in Fresno this year. We have too many possible kid commitments and can't buy tickets ahead of time. We're really going to try to make it Saturday so we'll have to meet up then! Back to Liberty!

Daniel, I am glad you like them! We only have a few groups in the West, so it is nice when they are recognized! Cheryl, they are still in California and going south. Check to see if any of these cities are near you. http://www.libertyquartet.com/schedule.php We won't be in the same seats in Fresno either. Similar to the problem you had last year, I have called and left messages, and tried to get some service to buy tickets, but have had zero luck. I will say that maybe it was for the best, because some other friends are now interested in going, and we wouldn't have been able to sit together. But I sure can't understand how they expect to sell tickets at this rate! I haven't tried recently, and might just buy tickets at the door... It would be cheaper than buying the fan pack like we wanted, since we might only go for one or two days now. When it gets close to the time, we'll have to set a time and place to meet. It'll be great to see Liberty Quartet in Fresno too.

Is this the same Liberty Quartet that was in one of Frank Arnolds talent contests in AL a few years ago?

I had forgotten you were from the California area. Let us know how the GWSGFF goes--I for one would be fascinated to hear about it. Do you know if it has a vendor's hall like NQC?

Answering for fossinater... I've been to the GWSGFF the past two years but have never been to NQC. The event is held at the Sav-Mart Center, which is a large stadium where some college (sorry, can't remember who), plays basketball. There are also several concerts held at this venue from what I understand. The only sales tables are on the concorse around the stadium. I'm going to miss going this year as I have too many family commitments. Thanks for your Liberty interview, Daniel! Keith is a really great guy! Cheryl

Thanks for the interview with Liberty Qt, Daniel! They are really a great group! Cheryl, I'm sorry you won't make it to the Fanfest this year. We are looking forward to it as always. We are even bringing some friends who have never been there before. BTW, Cheryl, remember the problems with tickets last year? It hasn't been much better this year. I left multiple messages with the given phone number, and NEVER got a call back. We are just going to buy our tickets at the door, but since we couldn't get the Artist's Circle package, which we wanted to buy, we are only going on Saturday instead of all three days. And I expect we will buy the lower priced tickets. I hope they will someday get it all together with the ticket sales! Anyway, I'm looking forward to a great time once we do get there!

Well, well, well. My old friend Keith has finally made it! Keith has left one thing out of his short autobiagraphy in this interview. For a while in the late 90's, Keith and his brother Bobby travelled some with our group. Keith's cousin Steve still sings with us. Now, Keith did not sing the tenor part for us. (That's my job!) Are you ready for this? Keith was our drummer. Hey Keith, remember that riverboat crisue on the Ohio River?

WOW!!!! I just came across this forum. Thanks for the nice comments. Janen49 and fossinator, be sure to stop by the booth and introduce yourselves at Fan Fest so I can put a face and name with the online handle. And, Cheryl, I hate to hear you guys won't be there this year. I tried to talk your dad into it, but to no avail. Btw, thanks to Daniel for the press on Liberty. Doesn't he do a good job with his blog?

Oh yeah, one more thing: John, I absolutely remember that riverboat cruise. I believe one drumstick made it's way to the bottom of the river. What a day! Yeah, my percussion abilities are my hidden talent. Abilities might be stretching it a little. And, yes, John you can see a lot higher than I can.
