The new moon has brought the new month of Nisan. Here are some thoughts on Nisan from FFOZ.
The Land and Scripture in History
Nisan 1/April 6
Set up of Tabernacle completed (Exodus 40:2,17)
Nisan 8/April 13
James the brother of Yeshua martyred during Passover Week (Josephus, Antiquities 20:197–201 and Eusebius History of the Church 2:23:4,10-18)
Nisan 10/April 15
The Master rides into Jerusalem on donkey, enters Temple and then returns to Bethany (Matthew 21:1-9, Mark 11:1- 11, Luke 19:28-40, John 12:12-16)
The Great Redemption of Nisan
During the month of Nisan, two mighty acts of salvation transpired for Israel: the Exodus from Egypt, and the death, burial and resurrection of the Righteous One, Messiah Yeshua.
The Exodus serves as the quintessential paradigm for God's salvation. It was there in the midst of slavery and oppression that the family of Jacob miraculously grew into the nation of Israel. Even when the majority of God's people could not see His hand in the circumstances they found themselves in, God raised up a prophet who led them to a deliverance they never thought possible. Through Moses, great and mighty acts were inflicted upon Pharaoh. After ten devastating plagues, the children of Israel found freedom. After a night of sacrifice, blood-stained doorposts, and the death of firstborn sons, Israel found deliverance from the bondage of the world.
So, too, have God's people found eternal salvation in a wholly unexpected way. In the midst of Roman occupation, an utterly corrupt priesthood, religious hypocrisy that stressed minutia but neglected love and compassion, and the failings of numerous revolutionary messiahs, Israel's hope for salvation seemed bleak. Once again, God's people puzzled over the circumstances they found themselves in. Yet as before, God sent a prophet, indeed the Prophet, who would lead Israel to the great redemption that they longed for.
And yet, unlike the first redemption from Egypt, the wrath of the second redemption was not aimed at Israel's oppressors. Rather, the wrath of God was poured out upon the Righteous One. Unlike the first redemption, the whips were not reserved for the backs of Israel while He lived detached from their plight. Rather, the flogging of whips came directly upon the back of the Prophet. Unlike the first redemption, the sacrifice was not made by Israel. Rather, God Himself offered the sacrifice-the Lamb of God nailed to blood-stained wooden posts. Unlike the first redemption, the firstborn sons of the enemy were not put to death. Rather, it was God who gave His only begotten Son to be put to death.
In both schemes of redemption, death is prevalent. And yet, death is not the end. Death comes, only to be overcome by life. Israel was counted as dead and defeated while in Egypt. They were nothing but a mere slave-people under the hand of the oppressor. However, they came forth victorious over death and were given new life.
At the ninth hour, Yeshua died and His lifeless body was taken off the cross. His body was wrapped and buried in a tomb. His followers' hopes for salvation were dead and defeated. Their Master had been executed by the hand of the oppressor. And yet, He came forth victorious over death and has given us new life.
Halleluyah, Yeshua is risen; Halleluyah, Death is no more.

Reported by the Israeli New Moon Society.
The Rabbinical Calendar does not follow the biblical
account of determining God's reckoning of time.
It served it's purpose, but has been out of sinc for a while.
Sometimes a day, a week, and sometimes a month.

You're welcome. We both agree that the Aviv barley is the way to go, but we seem to disagree on who has the authority to determine it. When I first learned about Aviv barley I thought it was what we should do, but further investigation helped me to realise that it might not be beneficial at this time.
Those position papers really clarified the issue for me.

My study-buddy and I just finished the book of Nehemiah this morning.
What an awesome book!!!!!!!!
We thought we'd knock of a few chapters in I Chron. but got stuck half
way through the first chapter. lol.
"The sons of Seir?" When I read that I said, "where'd they come from?" LOL.
So, I've been digging a little for our next session. that will be day after tomorrow.
Gotta go get my bio's checked out tomorrow. Good or bad, it will be a good report.

Nice to hear! What were some of the things that you really liked about Nehemiah? In the Tanakh, Ezra is grouped with it. Have you read that one too recently?
Ooooo... that gets me thinking about Ezra and the Men of the Great Assembly. Have you looked into how they shaped our faith much?

Hate to bump in here and interupt your train of discussion. This Pesach is going to be really special. Our congregation has been invited by a non-Messianic church to host the Passover feast at their church. They have invited and confirmed that several pastors and bishops in the Cleveland area will be in attendance. I pray this will be a truly eye opening, blessed ministry encounter.
Our pastor will be teaching the Passover as well as the prayer shawl. I ask that you all pray that scales would fall of the eyes of these pastors and those in attendance and that it will spark them to research deeper and pitch the man-made customs of easter, christmas....

Yes, we've read all the Prophets just recently.
Nehemiah was the last.
We've haggled over 4 chapters of I Chronicles.
But, I expect it to speed up once we get past the begats. lol.

You could always do a Seder at home, and invite a few close friends. I think that might be what I'm doing. I usually do one at church, but opted out of that this year.

The Liberated Wailing Wall recorded it. The version we are doing is a bit different-they had two recordings I guess.
Do you have pans big enough to put those cakes in? I know I don't.
I'm sorry he got booted off. Sorry, but not surprised-I've seen it happen before.

Yep you're right!
I think I have one and then I figure I will no doubt be doing this next year too and forever until Messiah returns...? So I am going to check out the thrift stores and if that doesn't work I'll invest in another one at Walmart or Target.

I found a crock pot recipe for leg of lamb and that's what I will be doing for our second at home seder. Less work for me-woo-hoo!
I also want to make tissue paper flowers for my congregational Seder. I have to see if there will be flowers already on the table. I was thinking of just doing a few to put in a small vase on the table. I also thought it would be nice to put a single flower at each person's place setting. A little extra something to make it nice and I don't think any other table will have that, either.

But for me I'm going anyway to take photos for Rabbi. I'll be helping out but I feel bad that my fiance won't get to go to his first Passover Ceder. 
Ah well. He's sweet and said it was ok and there's always next year and the years to come. 
I was very busy loooking for stuff and ordering it online with expedited shipping so it will be here on time. 
I'll be beating about 14 egg whites to fold into the matzo flour.
