This summer has it's hard times as it's a time for family get togethers, camp outs, barbeques, etc. My husband lost his battle with cancer in January and we feel such a huge void. Please pray for us as this sadness gets so overwhelming at times. I know nothing separates us from His love but I struggle with my own will to go on sometimes. My daughter is a blessing but she is grieving too. We are planning to go on a trip next month. Please pray all goes well as I want it be special for her. The grief process is long and painful even though we knew he seemed like he wasn't going to make it. All his desires were for coming home to be with us and life to go on. It's just so heartbreaking to live without him now.

(((((Carleejoan))))) I just want to give you a hug right now. I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly in December and tonight I was having a particularly sad evening and then I saw your post.
Have sent a prayer for you Carleejoan and for your precious daughter. I'm sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss too Awed. It's tough to go on. We have a wonderful church family and I've been in a grief group but it ended. Also I've been reading lots of Christian grief books but the pain is still there. I guess time will help. I do pray and ask God to take the weight of the sorrow but it still remains. I guess God wants us to go "through." We were married 28 years. So anyway I guess we have no choice but to go through it.

Can I ask how old your daughter is? My son is 24. He's married and he and his wife have each other . They both just graduated college.
Jeff and I were married 28 years also. It would have been 29 in January.

I'm glad you have a wonderful church family. Mine has been so important to me right now.

Yes, grief is a journey. It helps to know we don't walk it alone.

Carleejoan, I just sent you a PM and a prayer. I really hope your trip with your daughter is great and you find some peace and healing. I don't know, but I can imagine, how hard your loss must be. My husband and I have been married for 22 years and it seems like now he and I are appendages of each other, and I the only thing I can imagine if he wasn't there anymore is that it would be terrible.

Loving Father,

In Jesus Christ's name we ask that you comfort Carleejoan and her daughter. Help them to enjoy the memory of their husband & father in ways that will be positive and helpful.

Bless them as they go forward so that their future will be happy and joyful. Please help them in the ways that you know to be best...in ways that will help them to delight in you. Help so that their lives will be an endless adventure of blessings. Thank you for all that you will do for them. Amen.

Thank you all for your thoughtful notes and prayer. I guess I am surprised at hard it is to miss your loved one and closest friend. He suffered so much but we were close too. It has been a long process to let go and I know he's in heaven rejoicing in glory. No more struggles and pain. I know it will be a short time before God takes me home even though I'm 49 and still have to raise our daughter. Sometimes I get so down I just want to be with him in heaven. I guess we all have those feelings. All creation groans for that day.
