We've been fighting a battle with lyme disease for over a year now. I have licked it and it hasn't come back. However, my nine year old had it last year and it took three rounds of antibiotics and a lot of alternative medicine to get him well. Now he has it again. don't know if it's the same one or if he got re-bit by a tick (which he did) and got it that way. In May, my four year old got a tick bite, bullseye, high fever and tested positive- put on amox to which he was allergic. Switched to zithromax which I feel did nothing for him. Tomorrow he starts Ceftin (he's too young for doxycycline). I have also started him with our alternative medicine doctor who ordered some supplements for him which will be in tonight.
Meanwhile, my six year old has urinary tract infection and has had it for three weeks. On her second antibiotic and is still not better. I have a call in to the doctor.
My husband was diagnosed with diabetes about four months ago and he's seeing our alternative doc who is also treating it through nutrition. He's lost some weight and is feeling great but he is also struggling with lyme - he's on antibiotic and he refuses to go back to have his blood tested for sugar levels. He insists that he's doing fine on his diet, but I'm still worried and I want him to go back.
We are all generally healthy and health conscious - we don't eat sugar, preservatives, etc., - we get our milk from a local farm as well as our eggs. We have a healthy lifestyle and I just can't undertstand why we can't seem to get well and stay well especially as far as the lyme is concerned. I mean, there are kids who eat Twinkies and soda pop who get treated for this disease and they get rid of it. My kids have very few colds and illnesses and no other health problems.
Please pray for us. I'm at my wit's end, and our bank account was empty last week. Praise the Lord that he met our needs, but none of the alternative care is covered under insurance. Fortunately, he's seeing my four year old for free, but there is still the cost of supplements for him. Please pray that the Ceftin will be covered under insurance and that it will work for him without an allergic reaction.
It breaks my heart to see the effect this disease has on kids. Everything from stomach aches to leg pain and night sweats to emotional overload, neurological damage and mood swings. I know God can heal - he has done it before for us!
We have 15 chicks that are almost ready to be moved outside to free range to help us get rid of the tick problem. We're in the "lyme disease" capital of the world in the northeast. The baby ticks are so small, they are smaller than the tiniest freckle on your arm so it's nearly impossible to see them all. But I know that God is in control of all of it - I'm just tired out I guess.

Chin up, mom! Wow, to have a whole family to be keeping watch over. I'm praying for a healthier and healthier family, and a cooperative husband to stay the course with things.

Thank you for your prayers.
I spoke with the doctor last night. He will be doing a referral for my six year old to a urologist. He thinks that since she has not improved on either medication, that he wants her to be seen by a specialist. He suspects that she may have a problem with reflux from the bladder to the kidneys and the only way to diagnose that is to do an invasive test. She will have to be awake for it.
I made the mistake of telling a friend and she told me that her daughter had the same problem at this age and had so many procedures that she was traumatized for a very long time. NOT exactly the thing to say!
Please pray for her healing so that she doesn't need to have these tests done. If she does, please pray for peace for her. She's already a kid who worries endlessly about things so of course I haven't told her anything yet.

Lord, I pray that you will heal this little girl's UTI problems and any reflux or other problem. You can do these things. I pray that even if she has a reflux problem You would make it so she no longer has any UTIs anyhow. I pray You'd heal it all, Lord, so she may have a life free from any urology concerns. And, oh, Great Healer, please be with this dear Momma and her whole family to make their bodies strong and sturdy and healed, to give them each the peace that passes understanding, to financially provide for them...that one day soon they'll look back on this with a testimony of Your great healing and provision... In the meantime, please give them that supernatural peace and endurance that we have through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lord, please heal these precious children, they are so young to understand what's happening and I hate to hear that they are dealing with this. Please heal them both Lord, touch them and
comfort these 2 children Lord and make them healthy again..
