How hard is this to grow?
I think it is a very pretty filler in a somewhat blank flowerbed space.

What is it's hardiness?

I assume you are talking about Sweet Potato Vines? They come in many pretty colors, lime-green, pink and even black. They are easy to grow. I live in Upstate NY and we treat it like an annual here. You enjoy it during the summer and autumn but then it dies after a freeze. They are nice in window boxes too, because they get long and spill over the side.

wow a sweet potatoe vine is pretty.my grandmother used to have one in a window box in her kitchen.and it grow real big but she love it .i could never grow one,she had the green thumb.

How do you grow it? Simply plant a sweet potatoe? Does anything need to be done to the potatoe before you plant it?

I bought mine this spring. It was just a little plant, but sure has gone nuts over the summer. They are beautiful plants.
