Pray for Lane - Brain Tumor - 9/19/2008 8:42:57 AM

Please pray for Lane who has a brain tumor and is in hospice care at his home. He is 37 and he and his wife M have two children H (dd12) and B (ds3).
Specific requests?
Lane's comfort and understand. His abilty to communicate normally is affected. Lord, help him to say what he needs to say to those around him. Help him tell his nurses what he needs and his loving wife what she needs to hear. Give him "I love yous" for everyone - however they hear them.
Lane's son, B. B is only 3 and won't remember much of his Daddy. He was born after the first occurence and while tumor was in remission. Father, give him good pictures to look at, and the ability to be reminded of his fathers love in smells and sounds years from now. Let him grow to realize that he has his father's best traits.
Lane's daughter, H. H is 12 but doesn't yet know that she may lose her Dad. Oh Lord, it seems that she may feel forgotten at times, let her always know she is first and foremost Your child and that her faith in You is never misplaced. She will remember everything she sees and hears Father. Season the words of the adults around her and give them the wisdom to show Your grace to her.
Lane's wife, M. M believes that healing is coming and struggles to accept the very real possibility that it may not come until Lane is at our Lord's side. Lord, I'd be in denial too. I wouldn't know what to say to my children. Give her the right words when she needs them and the strength to seek You when she needs to speak them. Help her to fulfill all of her roles. Wife, mother, caregiver, and sister/daughter-in-law. And, allow her to accept the help You send. We pray for her understand of Your role in this and the vision to see Your hand on all of her family.
Lane's family. I only work with one member, but through them, feel I know so many. Father, help them help Lane and M. Give them the memories of happy times to share laughter with their son and brother. Give them patience when they talk to M. They all have Lane's best at heart and they need to see that in each other. Let them see the places where Lane and M need help and recognize the things that M needs to do to fulfill her roles. Lord, it would be so hard to take the children away for an hour or two, but it is important. Help the family provide bright spots for them and above all, help them to show Your love and what faith they truly have in You
Lane's caregivers. I will never meet a one of them but they have a special calling. Lord, they need the wisest words of all. Words to comfort and encourage without forcing their opinion and their own will. They can, and do, speak for You without acknowledging it. Father, use them to strenghten those who love Lane and to help Lane as his body fights this battle.
Father, we want Lane whole and healed. You can do this for him and his family. The doctors cannot do anything now - Lane is in Your hands. It is so humbling to think of him there. If his healing is not to come at this time; let us rejoice in the healing that brought B into everyones' lives. Use Lane and his family to bring others to you. It is so hard to know what to say or even what to pray for at times like these, but so many people need PEACE and HEALING. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. Lord, hold them all for us because our arms just aren't quite big enough.
Amen.

Father,
Please heal Lane in a way that will draw many to you. In the meantime, help him, his family & friends to cope well with the situation. We ask this and ask that you help them all to see your goodness triumph over this illness in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you. Amen.

Momma_bee, That is a beautiful prayerful post. I will definitely be praying for Lane and his family and friends, and for all those attending him in his Hospice care.

Father, we ask for healing for Lane, nonetheless we ask that Your will is done in this. Please be with Lane, his wife, his children, and all who love him. Hold them close and comfort them Lord. Fill them with Your peace. Cause the best for these children, and for this family. In Jesus name. Amen

Praying in agreement. Father, bless this family. Gently draw them into Your arms as they face and acknowledge the reality that Lane may be moving in with You soon. If it is Your will for a miracle of complete healing to occur, may You rightfully receive all the glory. Amen.

Lane passed away Wednesday evening. Services will be this Monday following the weekend viewing.
Please continue to lift this family up in their loss.

Lord, please be with Lane at this time. Please give him comfort and peace in these dire times. If it is your will, please lend him your healing touch so that he might be relieved of this tumor in his brain. Let those who are tending to his care please treat him with kindness and compassion, and may they show the same kindness and compassion to his family as they worry about him.
Lord, please be with Lane's family as they struggle to cope with what is going on. Draw them close and let them know that they can lean on you for support and comfort as this struggle continues. Surround Lane and his family with friends and other family members who can offer them encouragement and comfort. Help them cling to one another and keep themselves close as a family so they can be there for one another no matter what happens.
Lord, most of all, help keep their faith in you strong during these trying times. May they be able to go forth from this trial and be able to proclaim your word to other people and minister to those who are going through similar circumstances.
Lord, you are mighty and powerful. Though our faith in you might sometimes be shaken, we know that all things in this world happen according to your will and eventually for the good of all. You are truly our merciful Father, and I pray that you will hear these prayers and grant healing to Lane and comfort to his family if it should be your will. I pray all of this, with humility, in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Beloved Savior.
Amen.
