As some of you may know from my posts, I have been struggling for years with my husband's covert infidelity. I have continued lifting prayers for him to repent. I always thought that when I got absolute proof and showed it to him that he would stop, that I would see this wonderful man emerge who I thought I knew was beneath all the layers. I still find myself very confused about who he really is. He is the proverbial good guy that everybody liked, the guy who was always talking about ministry, who was there when you needed help. Of course, I thought, this other part of him was the anomaly. All I needed was proof and he'd want to get rid of his dysfunctional cravings for female validation, once and for all.
As has been documented here, this transformation did not occur. The revelation of his sin, courtesy of the other woman's husband, didn't result in repentance, but in a solidifying of a sordid character I didn't know existed within him, and a great capacity to disdain and reject the life we built together, a willingness to put aside me and our daughter, except for those times when he needed to feel like he still had a family. Until the adulteress allowed him to be around her girls, and he took over another man's family without a beat. He didn't just break our covenant, he disparaged me publicly and brought this adulteress, my 10-year enemy, out in the open as a person who should be honored and respected above me, his wife of 16 years, his companion of 21.
Everyone around me, save a few souls, has told me to give up on him and move on. I'm right at the precipice of jumping into my own new life, coming to the conclusion that the rest of my days will not be lived with him. He shows no evidence of repentance. He goes to church with the other woman and her kids. She's divorced now. Our divorce will be final in a few months.
And so, prayer. Prayer is what has sustained me through this, and what I ask you for now, as I move forward, and not just for me. The other day, my husband brought a little girl to my house when he was dropping off our daughter. She had the saddest face, big eyes, hunched over shoulders. She was just 8, but seemed older. She is the other woman's child. Apparently, there'd been some emergency and his mistress had to take her other child to the hospital, and there was this sad-looking creature at my front door. I invited her in, because to my daughter, she's like any other friend, and she wanted to show her her room. She stared at me, followed me around. I felt out of my body. And then she left and I was left to work through my feelings. And I ask for prayer for the little girl and the pain she experiences through this, for how she's being lead to trust a man who his destroyed her life as she knew it, and abandoned his own little girl. When she finally knows the truth of it all, what will it do to her, and her little sister? I pray for my own little 4 yo girl, who suffers daily with being without both parents, who doesn't understand. I pray for the courage to put aside my pain and be fully the mom she needs right now, who knows what to say when, and when to just hold her and listen.
Sometimes, my soul craves for my husband. I miss our friendship, our adventures, his presence, his wisdom, parenting with him. I don't miss his secretiveness, the little hints of infidelity, the explanations that made no sense, his making me his fool. Please pray that God will help me come to peace, to accept the good, and not let the bad change who I essentially am, but to help me to learn and grow past this, to help others.
And finally, I pray for my husband, the hopeless case in the minds and hearts of many...and nearly in mine as well. David ran for a year before God sent the man who would show him his depravity in a way he could not ignore. Last week was our year anniversary of the day he walked out the door. I pray for that man of God in his life....even as I protect myself from having hope that, thus far, has only resulted in me feeling foolish and out of touch with reality. Where does my broken heart find healing, Lord? Where are You leading me, Father? I will go. Just help me see Your light and I will follow.

HannahElizabeth, what a blessed heart you have. I am without words right now, but my heart is praying for you, the children, your husband and this other woman. I am so comforted in knowing that GOD is God Almighty, i pray you will be comforted as well. May His will be done in your lives for His glory, i pray in the name of Jesus the Messiah.

Dear Lord Jesus, please heal Hannah's heart and emotions, and those of all children involved in this situation. I ask You to cause these children to become strong in You, to have understanding and wisdom beyond their years.
Please help Hannah Father as she comes to terms with a situation that she hoped would be otherwise. We continue to pray for repentance for her husband and the other woman. Please shine Your light into their situation Lord Jesus, that nothing may be hidden.

Lord I pray for emotional healing for all involved in this situation.
I pray Lord that those who know you will be examples of your love and truth.
I pray for those that have lost their way,help them Lord to return to you.
Lord I lift up all the children to you.
I pray Lord that the children will all be raised to know and love you.
I pray they will be protected from the pain and anger the adults are holding on to.
Lord you know every need each child has,you know what they need to come to know you better.
I pray Lord you will provide a way for them to grow and live in a way which will glorify you
Embrace these families Lord with your love ,compassion and truth.
