I have a "prodigal son". At age 14 he began to get involved with drugs, sex, alcohol and anything else you can imagine. He ran away from home more times than I can remember, each time we searched for him till we found him and returned him home, only for him to run again. He got into trouble with the law, put on probation, ran again. Went to juvenile detention center for awhile, came home and ran again. In the meantime, he had gotten deeper into drugs, sex and alcohol. Finally, he crossed the line. The police had a warrant for his arrest just a couple of weeks after his 18th birthday. I can remember praying, "God, do WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET HIM TO YOUR THRONE." It took prison for him. He is now in the praise and worship band in the prison he is in, he is a MIGHTY MAN of God, and leading others to His Throne! While I do not like the avenue God used to get my son to "come home", I am thankful to God that He spared him from what could have been a worse fate than prison and am thankful that He answered my prayer. He sees everything, while I only see in part.
