It's seems a bit stupid but really i struggle with this. To whom i should pray? God, Jesus or Holy spirit? Right now i find myself praying a lot to God and to HolySpirit ( HS: guidance, thanks, revelations) I oftenly thank Jesus for His sacrifice and for what He has teach us but i endup not praying to Jesus. And i feel kind of bad about it. Can you help please?

Well I pray to God and I pray it in Jesus' name. We are not to pray to the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is within us (and everywhere) and always points to Christ and the Father. But I talk to the Father and Son when I pray.

Knowing He is a Triune God helps; Jesus told His disciples that if they had seen Him (Jesus) then they had seen the Father. The Holy Spirit leads us in truth to Jesus, so I pray to Jesus or God the Father. So really praying to the Father or the Son is cool. Don't let the evil one bug you. You're doing it right either way, and God loves it that you talk to Him. Tell the devil to bug off - he has to flee when you resist him. It's a spiritual battle. (((Hugs))) on you, dear one; God bless you.

I've heard people say in their prayers, "Come Holy Spirit" or something to that effect. Is that "praying" to the Holy Spirit?

Hi Lufia It isn't a stupid question, I know several people who have struggled this way in the past. The answer is simple though [and has been written above] - pray to God Our Father [who art in heaven!] But if you have prayed to either of the others in the past I am sure they passed the message on <smile>.

Hi Lufia-- these are fundamental questions to someone who is actively seeking a relationship with our Creator, the Lover of our soul! Do not ever be ashamed to ask such questions because the enemy can mislead you if you never ask. Always seek the answer in the Word. Look at Matthew 6:9-14, the passage usually referred to as "the Lord's Prayer." It isn't actually something that He wanted us to repeat over and over, but He was using it as a tool or a template to show us how to pray. He begins with "Our Father in heaven" (NIV). And goes on to show us the order in which to focus our thoughts as we address Him. Notice that no where is a laundry list of things that we'd like Him to do for us... I am not aware of anwhere in scripture that forbids us from praying to Jesus or the HS. We are told that Jesus' role is at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us with groanings, which means that he-in essence- is praying to the Father on our behalf as well. The NT is also clear that the HS's role is in interpretation of God's word to us-- teaching and discernment. Three distinct functions of one God. The important thing is that you are praying. Remember, though, praying is often a one-way conversation. It is us speaking to God. The Word is the other half of the conversation so make time daily to study it-- the HS will help you understand. Blessings in your walk!

when the storm rolled in, who did the disciples run to (hint... He was sleeping in the lower part of the boat) Jesus said "I am the vine, you are the branches" staying connected to the vine is very important if a branch is going to produce fruit.

Like the guy said above me. God is Triune. No matter which you pray to...they are all God. They were all worshipped. And one in Fellowship. Therefore they can all be prayed to. check this article for the scriptures to support what Im saying http://www.carm.org/questions/pray_to.htm
