The Perrys were in Colorado last night, and I was able to go see them. It was an interesting crowd...I think this was the only exposure to southern gospel music for most of the people there--there's *very little* SGM in Colorado. There are no SGM radio stations, and not many groups travel through CO. The Perrys have been to this church once or twice before, and most everyone seemed to enjoy the program. But they (the congregation) don't know much about SGM beyond The Perrys. :-) I noticed a couple of times when Nick had the lead that I could almost hear his dad. Nick's voice isn't as rich and full as his dad's but I think that may come in time. I don't know if this is something they normally do, but after the last song, the pastor asked them to do the song they did for the sound check, when Libbi was out in the bus and Tracy sang her part. They sang "I Know it was the Blood", and even got Matthew to sing. Tracy started out singing Libbi's part, but at the end Matthew was singing it. It was pretty funny. Oh, and Troy Peach is traveling with them, helping JK with sound, and I don't know what else. They had a video slide show going all during the program, but it was unobtrusive, and went well with the songs. I asked Troy about it afterward and he said that he and Libbi put it together. Looking forward to seeing them and everyone else at NQC!
