just heard a song by John Mark McMillan at a conference I attended with our youth group... HOW HE LOVES... a friend of mine sent me a link to it, with an extra verse added at the end. you can hear it on his myspace: http://www.myspace.com/johnmarkmcmillanworship It talks about how sometimes we are like a tree in a hurricane, and the world just seems so violent around us... but it goes on to declare with all faith in the word of God and the work of Christ that HE LOVES US. There is no question, the circumstance around us does not determine the Truth of his love for each and everyone of us. If ur world and life feel like ur being ravaged and ripped apart, if ur being bludgeoned and bloodied even though you are a believer... and you feel like asking God, "Where are you? Have you forgotten me? Have I done something wrong? How can you love me if you allow me to hurt like this?" Listen to this song (especially the last verse) and the weeping of John Mark as he recounts in his heart the pain of Stephen as he was stoned to death... and yet his great Faith in a God that he knew loved him despite the circumstance staring him in the face... you are loved. OH HOW HE LOVES YOU AND ME!!! I thought about you The day Stephen died And you met me between my breaking I know that I still love you God Despite the agony See people they want to tell me your cruel But if Stephen could sing He'd say its not true Cause your good (the complete lyrics are posted on his blog. The link to them is on the same page, and is titled LYRICS.)
