OK, I just got kind of frustrated with this one. It seems kind of odd. Why would a single woman want to set me up with one of her friends? I don't get it. If she thinks I am a good guy, why would she try to set me up with her friend and not try to connect with me herself? Am I missing something here? Grrrrrrrr.......

Maybe she's already decided that you and she aren't as compatible as a prospect for herself would need to be. Perhaps she thinks you and her friend would be a stronger match.

I would see it as a compliment, not as dissing you.

Can I quote something a man said, "Maybe he's she's just not that into you."

It's okay Barry *huggles* we all have questions like that. Maybe she sees something in you that you don't and thinks you would better serve God with this other girl than herself.

Well, this definitely isn't the first time this has happened to me. So, it gets kind of frustrating. I'm not really sure why it bothers me as much as it is right now. But yeah, it's good to vent on here sometimes.

And it's good to hear that other people have the same issues that I do. *huggles*

Well not exactly the same issue. For me it was with a guy friend introducing me to a buddy of his. But being the type of girl who is always friends with guys, this is quite common. Frustrating, but common.

She might not think you are her type and she knows someone you might really connect with. Some people find it fun. I happen to like to set people up. I understand folks pretty well, and I pretty much know who would work out together. Besides, it makes me happy.

While this hasn't happened to me I would take it as the highest compliment

I've always found women to be very protective of their friends. If she's trying to set you up with her friend then you've been judged to be pretty good. Girls don't let their friends date junk.

Of course, if the girl she's introducing you to is the girl you've secretly had your eye on, then thank your friend profusely!

It really all depends on the attraction level and if you trust the matchmaker's judgment.

Okay, can I say that it appears that I may be 4 for 5 in my matchmaking abilities? Sometimes, there are no brainers that just need someone to do the middle work to encourage the couple. It's actually a LOT of fun to watch as it progresses.

I do this all the time. And it usually means I like you enough to recommend you to a friend. I've even done this to men I've dated and became friends with. It's become an inside joke in my circle of friends. They think that they are benefiting from the fruits of my labor, lol.

It has backfired on me once. I had ended dating this man but I still had feelings for him when he asked me if I would set him up with someone. It was a big OUCH.

I don't do it now as none of the people I introduced ever worked.

It would be nice if these people who have tried to match me put a little more thought into it. In my experience, it's only considered whether it would be a good match on one side. For example, someone has a female friend who wants a relationship and thinks "Oh, broyce is a good guy who would treat her well, and be good for her." Then, there is no consideration given to whether she would be what I am looking for. Maybe I just need to find people who are better at matchmaking, and not just trying to help one of the people involved and seeing me as just a guy who can solve someone else's singleness problem.

(I'm not sure which of those smilies represents a sigh, but insert it here)

Sorry it's happened that way for you. I will say that with the ones I've done, I make sure that they are good for one another before moving forward. The one that didn't work out were two very strong-willed (unbelievers) people who couldn't get past their issues. They were together for nearly 2 years, and they discussed marriage, but in the end, it didn't work out.

People need to be aware of the needs of both before going this route......

Just be thankful that she is finding someone she thinks would be a good match for you! I can imagine it's frustrating, if you think she's kinda nice herself, to think she doesn't see you in the same way. None of my friends ever tried to match me up with anyone. I asked them to keep their eyes peeled for me, but they said they never met anyone who was like me (in a good sense)! Show your friend some sincere gratitude.

My friends actually never try to play matchmaker for me. I suppose it's providential; lately God seems to want me to do most things without having to depend too much on other humans.

I try not to match people. Its hard. I don't like being matched because most people don't know all of my personality.
