Allright so i am getting married in September. My soon to be hubby bought me an Engagement ring, But our problem is we cant find a band to fit it. It is a cheep ring so he was thinking about just buying a bridal set...Is that a good idea..And if so should i wear my first ring on my other hand and my new rings on my other?

ps. sorry about spelling.....i am not having the best typing day!

My engagement ring wasn't a technical engagement ring so there was no matchng band. I just got a plain gold band. It didn't "fit" together perfectly with the engagement ring but it wasn't obviously mismatched either.

I think it's a matter of personal preference so whatever the two of you decide, so be it.

My engagement ring is just a big diamond in the center with three little ones on each side. It is white gold. When my dh bought it he didn't realize that i always planned on wearing my moms band which is yellow gold. I was SO worried because everyone says you cain't mix white gold and yellow gold. Well i did and it looks great. They don't always have to be a perfect match. What ever YOU decide is what is best for you.

Oh and if you buy the bridal set i would wear the first ring on your right hand. (not just shove it in a drawer)

I went to two Jewelry stores to find a wedding band that worked with my engagment ring which has a heart shaped diamond. I found a wrap around with blue and white stones that makes an arch over the heart. I really like the way it looks. Guess my advice is keep looking to see what you can find to work with your engagement ring. In the end, you can do it anyway you and your sweetheart feel is best.

You can always have a ring made to fit the band. If you shop around, you could probably find a jeweler to do it fairly inexpensively.

Nothing to do with weddings, but my mother had always kept her sister's senior class ring, after her sister had died soon after starting college. Years later, my dad bought mom a pair of pearl earrings while in the Navy, and over the years she lost one of them. So she had the ring melted down, and combined with the pearl to make a lovely little ring for me. It's one of my most cherished possessions.

That is really sweet dusty. I have a ruby ring that my parents gave me that lost one of the rubies. I keep thinking of having the other ruby and 2 diamonds made into something else. Maybe a ring for DD whose birthstone is ruby
